Belgian Extra Pale Ale w/Nelson Sauvin & Motueka hops. This BXPA smells like a NZ fruit salad - lychee, kiwi & citrus nose, pleasantly dry finish.

Tap sample. Poured hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus fruit and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture with soft carbonation. Moderate citrus bittersweet flavor with a moderate sweet finish of medium duration. Very good brew.

On tap. Mildly hazy pale golden color. Thin white head. Good retention. Dots of lace, but they slowly slide back down into the head. Nice citrus and tropical fruit in the hop profile, some melon. Lighter belgian influence. Just a light bit of belgian yeast, light candy sugar -- hop is more prominent here. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Medium body. Lightly dry finish. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, light spiciness. Solid Belgian extra pale ale, with an interesting, tasty hop profile.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2014 Draft at Pint Night at Jungle Jim’s-Eastgate. Pours a semi-hazy pale golden color with a small white head. Notes of lemon citrus, pineapple, stone fruit, bready and pale malts, mild spices, and just a bit of cookies and crackers. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mouthfeel that starts fruitier and sweeter and becomes drier. Nice hoppy Belgian.

Draft at Rhinegeist. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have a tart fruity character, yeast, mild spices, earthy, almost dusty on the nose, the combo of herbs and spices comes off as odd to me.

Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a slightly hazy gold with tbin white head. Smells odd for the style; gym socks. Tastes like it smells with a bit of hops. Not bad, but definitely not a BPA.

Draught at LB. Very nice and lightly hopped beer - not really Belgian. But those Nelson Sauvin shine.

Draft pour into a pint glass. The beer is a clear yellow with a white head of foam. Pretty good retention as well. The aroma has lemony notes and cotton candy and herbal aspects. The tadte is predominantly sweet and mildly bitter. Some esthers. Medium carbonation and light to medium body.

12 oz can in Dublin Ohio. True to style. Good aroma with moderate complexity but the fruity and yeasty flavor lacks complexity. Slightly sour and mildly bitter.
