12oz can pours a murky orange with some frothy, white head. Nose is OK, grist, some mild toffee sweetness, a little pepper, some grass. Flavor is quite muddled, grist is more on the stale side, light pepper, some grass, straw. Spritzy finish. OK.

Pours a dark honey color with a thick fluffy off white head. Aromas of pine and sweet malt. Piney, resiny flavors. Earthy hops, slightly vinous flavors, biscuit, sweet malt. Dry, earthy finish. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Not bad, but not outstanding.

Amber color out of the can with a thick, sticky off white head. Nose with some some rye spice and some earthy hops. Caramel sweetness with a strong rye presence and a firm, earthy dry hop finish. I do like rye in beer.

12oz can from H. Thanks dude! Nose is all rye, to the point of celery. Big sweet malts in the flavor. Sweet fruity. Tangy. Wanted to love but it was only ok. 12.5

draft the poured a like a medium clear cola brown and red color. well it was strange looking. nose is medium to heavy malts and rye spice. the flavor to me seemed muted by the malts but you get the rye spice and some piney hops and that was about it...nothing overly exciteable just drinkable.

Draft sample. The beer is a clear copper with a white head of foam. Good retention. The aroma has strong roast notes with hints at burnt toffee. More of a toasty tasting beer than anything else. Some bitterness comes through. Medium body and carbonation.

Sample at the Fat Heads Tap Takeover at Kraft House No. 5 on 07/30/2015. Clear copper color with a medium fluffy bone white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of piney hops, rye and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of resiny hops, rye malt and fruit. The finish is spicy rye and hops. Above average overall.

Tasted from can. Pours a reddish amber with off white head. Aroma is caramel, biscuits, herbal and earthy notes. Taste is only mild to moderately bitter with a pretty good malt backbone. Pretty sessionable. Flavors of caramel, biscuits, toffee, herbs, earthy. Not mind blowing but pretty good rye ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
