Sample. Copper color with one finger off white head. A little hoppy, spices, pine aroma. Grain, slight citrus, rye, sweet taste. Pretty good beer.

12 ounce can, canned on 04/17/15. Rhinegeist brews have finally made their way to Columbus, and this is one that I’ve been waiting to try! Served in a Rhinegeist pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear copper color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like spicy rye, earthiness, bready malt, peppery spice and some grassy/citrusy hops. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some caramel and toasted malt noticeable. Nice mix of sweet, hoppy and spicy rye flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s slick, smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I could see myself drinking quite a few of these this spring and summer! $9.99 a 6-pack.

Pours a clear copper from the can with fluffy off-white head that lasts to leave moderate lace. Aroma is faint, but nice earthy rye notes over citrus grapefruit hops. Taste is way more prominent, big hop character with lasting bitterness and grapefruit pith. Solid pale, nicely done.

Red with. Light tan head. Rye, pine, citrus, light sweetness. Medium bodied. Flavor has enjoyable rye spice, pine notes, grapefruit. Medium dry finish. Nice amount of rye kicks this APA up a notch. I’d stock the fridge with this.

Can. Aroma is hoppy - citrus, a little grassy. There is a bit of a spiciness to it in the aroma but it doesn’t stand out until you taste it. On the palate the rye comes way forward. Making it really stand out.

Poured from 12 ounce can at Rubblebucket concert at Woodward Theater on April 4, 2015. Dark amber/brown hue, nice nostril clearing rye/hop aroma, big but not overpowering rye/hop flavor, emphasis on the rye. Very good brew.
