COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
British Imperial IPA brewed with Magnum, Glacier, and Challenger hops along with Maris Otter and Torrefied Wheat. A British-inspired yet still West Coast-ish (hopped aggressively & quite dry) Imperial IPA. Malt forward, yet dry with intense black currant, berry & spice tones.

On tap at my office. Pours a dark golden color with minimal lacing. Smells a little bready, with some grassy hop aromas. Tastes mild and balanced, not much hop bite and the alcohol is well hidden, also has a nice dry finish. Almost resembles an imperial pale as opposed to an IPA.

Draft sample. Pours a clear tea color with a small white head that laces the glass. Aroma of pale and toasty malts, grassy hops, and not much else that can be discerned- muddled and restrained. The flavor is equally muddled and restrained at the same time, with tea, caramel, grass, mild florals, sweat, resin, and some berry fruits. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation. Drinks way under the 8.2% and 80 IBU stats; sneaky. But a bit of a letdown based on the other IPAs from Rhinegeist so far.

Tap. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy malt and hop aroma. Medium to full body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate smooth bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Solid brew.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have some of the West Coast hops from the description, but this comes off as more malt forward to me. Toasted malts, biscuits, some toffee, mild bitterness. Good, but not quite up to Saber tooth tiger or Truth.

On tap. clear golden orange color. Thin off - white head, dots and short ropes of lace that slowly slide back down into the body. Bigger body, smooth crisp lighter carbonation. Sort of dry finish. Toasty, toffeeish malt profile, sort of biscuity, gingerbready. Good west coast -esque grapefruity, resiny hop flavor, more so than most american "english IPAs". Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, and a light spicy bite to it. Solid take on an english, yet still very hoppy DIPA

Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; a transparent burnt orange with foamy white head. Smells solid; a nicely balanced hop profile with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with floral notes as well. Pleasant on the palate. Good beer.
