Pour is light brown. Sweet, toasted malts, some brown sugar, chocolate. Malt driven in all aspects. Very faint earth notes. A fine mild.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
on tap @ Rhinegeist / Cincinnati OH --- Clear dark amber, white head cover, cobwebs of lace. Taste is straight malt that has an overtone of hazelnut and cedar. It moves easily to a finish that has only a hint of hops. It would be lighter (and better) without the nuts/cedar. As it is, not memorable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at The Ohio Taproom. Clear copper-brown color with a medium thin creamy white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft: itís malty and biscuity. Earthy. Very easy to drink, but is also a little boring in my opinion, but the right situation, and before you know it Iíd be raving about how amazing thud beer is... Worth a taste for sure.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear amber brown color with a small khaki head. The aroma and flavor had biscuity malts, mild bitterness, toasted bread, with a light nutty character. There just isnít that much to go on.

8/10/2013: Rhinegeist Uncle... This is a pretty good mild and is very representative of the English Dark Mild style. It is mahogany in color with a frothy beige crown. The aroma and flavor are mostly the same and contain a nice blend of malt complexity: toasted bread, nutty, roasted malt/chocolate undertones; finish is slightly more dry. The carbontion is light, yet crisp which is right for the style. Overall, I like this beer and Iím glad to see that somebody is making a English Dark Mild, but why does this low malt, low hop, and low alcohol beer cost the same per pint as a pint of Truth?! It doesnít make any sense and isnít worth drinking at $6/pint at the brewery! Draught (pint) at Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rating #10 for this beer.
