4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle 1.0l from brewery. First of all I really like the concept of Pax Bräu with old school one litre snap bottles and amazing label artwork. This one has a rhino on it which perfectly matches the beer in terms of strength. It pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is an absolutely amazing blend of fruit and bitterness. Taste is not what you think of an ordinary Pilsener. This is labelled Imperial Pilsener and resembles more of a mixture of of Pils and Bock Bier. Bitterness, caramel, lemon, grapefruit and a slight smokey touch at the end. Aftertaste is a long lasting mix of bitterness and caramel with a slight alcohol spiceness which is no surprise considering the 8.5 the ABV. Really great stuff.
