3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a dark red/amber colour with little to no head, and no lacing either.
Smells faintly alcoholic and malty.
Tastes of medium to dark malts and some nice fruity English hops. Well balanced out with a bit of booziness too.
Overall a nice drop.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at The Water House (JDW), Durham, £2.05/pint.
Good looking reddish amber beer with a thick, creamy, cream coloured head that leaves good lacing on the glass. The aroma evokes dry leaves and damp wood, as well as maybe just a hint of citrus. The taste has plenty of bitterness with burnt caramel flavours as well as some marmalade and a little sweetness on the late palate. Smooth sipping, this was a decent, robust bitter that I quite enjoyed.
