Commercial Description:
Bottle: Unfiltered.
"Our strongest ale to date. A heady flavour from a combination of six malts, carefully and skilfully mixed by hand, which we believe provides an ale of exceptional character. Full bodied yet rounded, serious but eminently quaffable".

Cask handpump at GBBF 2009. Dark amber with a short head. Mixed floral fruity scent. Quite watery and carbonated. Malt biscuit overtones. Some vegetables on the end. Nothing special.

bottle, Waitrose Abergavenny. Clear deep golden colour, mid-sized fluffy head. Aroma of malts, bitter and perfumy hops and smoke. Full-bodied, bitter-sweet with a touch of smoke, reminding me of Bamberg smoked beers. Hints of caramel and toffee with a lingering hoppy finish. Very good!

Cask at GBBF 2009. Pours deep amber with not much head but still lively. Aroma of ovaltine and butterscotch, a little nutty, full bodied with plenty of chewy dry malt, well balanced and clean on the palate. More butterscotch in the aftertaste, along with a dry herby bitterness. Very nice...
