CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain Jul 25, 2004 Very nice and drinkable golden ale. Often at the brewery dance room this is like $1.50 a bottle -- good deal, nice beer. Nothing special, but better than sipping a bud light. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jul 13, 2004 Pours a hazed gold with a small foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and buttery with some malty and bready notes. Kind of like a buttered biscuit. Taste is a bit on the tart side but has malt, light hops, and some fruit. The mouthfeel seems a bit acidic. This is something I can’t recall experiencing with this style. Otherwise it’s somewhat smooth. Finish is more of the tartness with some lighter malt character. Nothing more than average. crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 6, 2004 I enjoyed it, but certainly nothing special. Smooth and refreshing with a mellow taste. A good alternative to the typical macro ale. Foxbush (452), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jan 31, 2004 Good head formation that stayed with the drink. Modest hop flavor but had all characteristics of a good ale. Color was like gold. This is good every day ale. I enjoyed the ale at a Ground Hog day party. JFGrind (1346), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 12, 2003 Malty, aroma, flavor and slight bitterness in the aftertaste. If I lived in Richmond I would be inclined to purchase a six-pack of Richbrau over of a macro beer. Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Oct 9, 2003 Light, grainy malt aroma, with touches of vanilla, light honeyish sweetness and faint hop spice. Medium golden color, with a lasting, creamy head. Malty, sweet flavor profile, with a light-handed combination of bready, sweet grainy malt, light fruitiness and hop bitterness, also a tad of hop flavor towards the finish. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2003 Very Lite ale nothing to it. Little hop and malt flavor. Finishes clean and crisp. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 8, 2003 Like the name would imply, this is goldena dn clear. There's average activity. The beer is malty and smooht. Sharp almost cheesy bitter finish. Gristy.
