Specially aged with lightly toasted Oak, we’ve carefully crafted this festive seasonal to capture the warmth of an old, iron-stove Oakhouse. With subtle hints of vanilla and a deep amber hue, this rich winter lager is ideal alongside succulent stew or piping hot roast. All you need now is plenty of firewood. And matches.

Rickards has nothing but poor beers and this is no exception. Inconsistent brewing. In my six pack I had 3 atrocious beers and 3 slightly better bottles. In my 3 worse beers the aftertaste was almost putrid, it left a rotting meat taste in my throat. The 3 other beers, one of which I am drinking now smell pretty good sweet woody aroma with a light body and a quickly dissipating head. The first taste has very little complexity and only faint flavours. It is neither hoppy nor malty and its slight sweetness and "oak" taste is emphatically artificial. I would not buy this beer again.

Cinnamon spice scent. Extremely smooth: no hops at all, very mild finish, little carbonation, creamy. Vanilla and spice. Light and refreshing. Although nowhere near my most favoured seasonal, certainly one of the best Rickards I’ve encountered.

bottle. pours gold with light orange tint. Aroma and taste dominated by a strange chemical-like oak/toffee taste. Otherwise light and one-dimensional.

Scent of cinnamon, toffee, and vanilla. Clear, amber colour. Slightly spicy and oaky taste, but very slight - primarily malt and other lager flavours. Medium body with mild carbonation. A bit flavourful than the average lager, but not too much more.

Cloudy gold with white head. Some like toasted malt aroma and flavour and a slight acidic kick. Nothing really too jolting to excite my taste. Over all a decent chug but nothing more then a thirst quencher for the winter blues.

473 ml can from TBS, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear light amber with a fair white head. Aroma: Oddly smoky...wood smoke, like a very light version of Bamberger beers, a touch of caramel and brown sugar, a touch of dark dried fruitiness, vaguely reminiscent of Creemore, a bit of vanilla as it warms (power of suggestion...?). Palate: Medium body, fairly lively carbonation. Flav.: A bit smoky, a little vinous, vague oakiness, maybe a touch of vanilla; dry with low bitterness and a somewhat watery, vague, not very pleasant finish.

The pint I had a while back was a bit better. This is messy and lacks character.

Crack can and dare I say I smell some oak, toffe and vanilla. Up close I smell like a molson canadian lager type smell with a little okay and vanilla. Taste wise it’s too lager forward in taste and smell but after taste not super light but no where near strong I can taste some oak, vanilla, toffe and some lemon zest. Some sips r good some sips could be better. Too lager forward.

Can from the lcbo. Amber, orange pour, small white head. Aroma of slig spice, oak, and touches of vanilla mingling with some pale malts. The body and carb are run of the mill for molson. The finish is a tad buttery, with more woody vanilla, and pale malts. Why would you oak age a lager? Not my bag,
