Poor excuse for a Pale ale. Taste is just your run of the mill macro. Donít waste your time on this.

Haha. This PALES in comparison to a real IPA. Get it? Lame humour is my strong suit. Clear YELLOW pour which only denotes an IPA if notorious amounts of hops are present, and this beer does not contain them. This is another Canadian faux IPA that is a pale lager in disguise. Points for somewhat tasty maltiness and a hint of hops that might, and I emphasize might bring this into an ale classification, if only slightly. I canít even finish rating this properly. Fail.

On tap at the Air Canada Centre. Pours a clear light gold with moderate, lasting white head. Lots of fizz obvious in the glass (and in the mouth). Mild aroma of pale malt. Taste is a little more pronounced and has a light grassy bitterness. Better than most Molson products but not particuarly good.

Here I was at game 5 of the Canucks v. Blues in round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs and I come up to the stand for some beers and see Rickards Pale. It actually cost 50 cents more than Canadian because its a "microbrew". Nice try, or should I say lie Molson. Anyways the beer was decent but nothing of what makes micro beers so tasty and enjoyable.

I donít remember this beer to fondly. I may have a better apreciation for it now, but I seem to remember an unpleasant bitter aftertaste that wasnít quite right.

Yeah, draught @ Rockwater Brew & BBQ in London. Pale colour, but the same caramel sweetness of the Red. Smelled macro, tasted macro, but it a curious bitter edge that I almost liked.

Its an ok beer. Not actually close to an IPA. But for some macro stuff it was not that bad, but I wont buy that again for sure.

bottle: Pours a lovely golden blonde colour with lots of carbonation and a thin white head. Hoppy, almost fruity aroma. Initially tastes nice on the palate with fruity and hoppy hints but like all of the offerings from Rickards, I found the finish to be most unsatisfying. Finishes with an unatural creamy texture that I canít explain. Where does this come from? Iím not sure but it makes this beer finish baaaad.

Iíve had this beer, bottle and draught. Better on draught obviously as usual. Nothing special, certainly not a pale ale, as advertised.......I honestly wouldnít even classify this as an ale. I wouldnt say itís as bad as what some people on here are saying.......but I wouldnt say itís good either. I like rickards red better.
