Boring Molson product, but not nearly as shitty as most of their products. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16.02.2015. On tap at Hard Rock Cafe, Toronto, Canada. Amber reddish colour that really shines. White head. Soft malty aromas. Very soft nice biterness. Not to much hops, but there is a nice flavour of darker malts. Soft sweetness. Aftertaste is more soft malts. Leaves a velvet mouthfeel.

341 ml bottle from a sampler twelve-pack from Sobeys Liquor, served in a two-tiered flute glass. Pours a reddish/coppery amber with light carbonation and a fine, milky head with abundant webs of lace. Aroma is sweet and toasty malt and dark fruit; flavor is sweet with red berries and caramel on top of the malt toast. Slightly thicker than ordinary lager, and with a creamy texture. RR has been a guilty pleasure since I first had a 26-ounce draft mug at Tony Roma’s (a chain restaurant noted for their ribs)...unfortunately, my notes from that afternoon were lost, and so I’m reviewing the bottled product. That mug seems better, but that, of course, might be due to draft bias. It’s not as richly full-flavored as other favorite reds, but it hits my spot nicely.

Pours a clear copper topped by two finger of frothy white head showing minimal retention. The nose is roasted malts and some grassy hops. The taste is roasted and nutty malts paired with the same grassy hops followed by an abrupt dry finish. Casual beer with nice roasted features. I often recommend this as a ’’starter’’ for rookies who want to get familiar with red lagers or ales.

Tap at Boston Pizza, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Light brown color, small head. Caramel aroma. Taste is semi sweet and malty. No real hops were used in the making of this garbage.

Desperation draft at a restaurant that had nothing else. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of papery bread. Taste is light caramel and lemon.

A standard beer in Canada and used to be one of my standard drinking beers. However it has lost its taste and complexity when it was bought by Molson. Now it is not very good. I often find the aroma to be musty and the taste is now almost a burnt nut taste with little complexity. Sad to see a decent beer go by the way side.

Clear medium dark copper brown with minimal off white head. Grainy with the subtlest hint of caramel malt. More or less a pale macro lager.

Canada - what can you say about it? Sorry, I meant - what can you say ABOOT it? Get ready for the saddest ticking story since that guy who went to one of Belgium’s top lambic bars with freaking Jean van Roy and ordered some Lindemans sweetened crap just because he hadn’t had it. What dude, really? With JvR there? Sometimes tickers gotta tick. Anyway, a once proud ticker named nickd who had since fallen from grace had a layover in Toronto. He went to the freaking MOLSON pub and spend CAD$20 plus tip on a pale lager and a dumbed down Irish Red, a style that’s already a dumbed down something or other. I ate a crappy burnt $16 burger with this too. Ouch. You have as much right to call me a tool as if my name was Atul (which was the actual name of a guy I met). So how was the beer? IT WAS AWESOME!!! Just kidding, it sucked. If you want a happy ending, go to the massage parlor. This ended up with me getting played like a poopbutt (NWA reference), taken to the cleaners for some crappy ticks. Draft. The beer looks reasonable enough, deep reddish amber with a small light khaki head. The aroma is dark fruit and nutty, and I mean that in the loosest sense of those descriptors. Tastes of macro, bland with a slight toasty malt note. Medium body, somewhat smooth. I guess it could be worse, but it’s not good. This is still a better love story than "Twilight" though.

On tap. Clear dark copper with a small white head that leaves some tight lace. Nose is light caramel and grain. Light sweet toffee start which is about all there is. Thin light mouth with soft carbonation and a short crisp finish.
