RaphaelN (168), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 3, 2007 On tap at Jack Astor’s. It was tolerable. Red liquid with small white head. Taste is lightly bitter with a dominating taste of bread dough.A tad more complex than the usual macro. Not too great though.
thepegjett (58), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 2, 2009 A - sweet and yeasty
A - auburn and clear
F - light for the color...not much there
P - soft inviting mouth feel
O - decent Red. KidVenom (13), Manitoba, Canada Jan 1, 2009 Im not very impressed with this beer. Another beer that gets way more praise then what its really worth. I love the appearange of the beer, however the flavor just doesnt meet standards. Its much too bitter, with a strong lack of flavor. Not much else I can say.
However, alot of people with a vast knowledge of beer seem to like it...maybe theres something im missing. freekyp (840), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA Dec 12, 2008 Tap version in Edmonton AB. Pours a clear reddish brown topped with a fairly creamy head, and decent lacing. Aroma is muted but slightly malty as is the flavor. Well balanced with a medium mouthfeel. Strikingly similar in flavor to a Smithwicks. Decent enough for session drinking. terrybail (212), London, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2008 12oz Bottle from the LCBO
On Tap At TJ Baxters
if you are stuck in a bar that only has macros then this can sometimes be your best bet
carruthm (555), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 27, 2008 Had on tap at Shark’s Nest in Vancouver. Decent looking beer was pretty meh on the nose and tongue with little to offer in terms of malts. Bit thinnish as well, but overall solid enough.
