Cloudy yellow colour with thin white head. Spicy yeast nose. Dry spicy bitter yeast taste with lingering dry spicy finish.

0.473 can. Cloudy, honey color and virtually no head. Aroma of flowers, hops, perfumes, and a touch of wheat. Taste is sweet: malts, a lot of honey, some, grains. Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish introduces citric flavors but still keeps the general character of tea with honey. Overall not a bad tasting beer but certainly somewhat unorthodox.

Fun summer beer. I like to drink it with some sort of citrus fruit wedge on the rim of my glass because it makes me feel fancy....

UXO (1000) - CANADA - JUN 25, 2015
Appearance: cloudy pale gold with one finger of dense white head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: wheat, pale malt, faint orange peel and spices. (4/10) Taste: mild to moderate sweet, mild bitter, slight tart. (4/10) Palate: light to medium body, soft carbonation, off-dry medium duration finish. (3/5) I usually don’t have the orange slice in witbiers, but this one kind of needs it. Not really getting any banana, either, and the cloves or coriander are buried pretty deeply. “Inoffensive” is about the best one can say for it. (9/20)

Hazy yellow pour with thin head. Wheat, orange rind, and slight spice round out the nose and flavor. Not terrible, but lacking the true witbier qualities.

Cloudy light orange pour with a thin head. Citrus & yeasty aroma. Taste is of the same. Low carbonation. Don’t forget the piece of orange!

Opaque golden yellow, orange tinted body with a huge white head. I find a lot of macro witbiers have a hhuge peach aroma, just like 1664 it is true here. Some orangey citrus as well. Not too impressed, but a very hard to mess-up style (from what I’ve seen, never seen one I didn’t enjoy,

341 ml bottle from a Rickard’s sampler twelve-pack from Sobeys Liquor outlet, served in a tall witbier glass. Pours a hazy amber shade with a white cap of froth that leaves consecutive rings of lace. Aroma is sweet wheat and reasonably bright hops, with de rigueur banana presence; the same applies to the flavor (I’m not sure, but I think clove is lying buried in there - I need to train my senses further), with added orange, lemon and lime from the hops. The carbonation is low, the body is slightly above simply thin, and the conclusion is soft and uncloying as it tapers away. Not an exciting or dynamic wheat ale, considering I’ve had and loved the excellent Schneider Weiss Tap 5 and its ilk, but it’s very pleasant, drinkable, friendly, and thankfully unsyrupy or heavily spiked with seasonal flavors (I’m looking at you, Tree Brewing Vertical, with your wintertime ’vanillausea’).

Hazy golden color. Complex taste of fruit. Lemon and orange. Not as fruity as other white beers. Light body. Crisp finish. Ordinary beer. Not having again. I would choose other white beer.
