RWWP (11), Ancaster, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2008 On draught; too cold initially, but little improvement as it warmed; no discernible aroma not even wheat or bread; some lace, but this disappeared rapidly - as did any head; taste was BLAND; watery mouth feel; no finish. Sent this back in favour of a Rickard’s Red, which at least resembled beer. Did I get a bad batch? Unlikely, as the waitress was firm in declaring that this was the way Rickard’s White always was. If so, this is a marketing triumph to have any sales at all. What exactly have others here been tasting?
mbgrayson (45), Anaconda, Montana, USA Aug 29, 2008 A nice, refreshing summer brew. Smooth and drinkable, but not very comple or rich. superdude1979 (29), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 24, 2008 I was pleasantly suprised by this Rickards offering. most of their other brews I cannot stand. I found this beer to be lightly citrus and very easy to drink. However, I do not enjoy slices of fruit with my beer. Dezzilu (170), Versailles, France Aug 19, 2008 Had the look and smell of a white beer and, when poured correctly, had a murky bottom to the glass. The taste was refreshing, but the flavor was thin and washed away quickly. The finish was almost non-existent. This was a nice beer, but much better white beers exist. I still prefer the tried and true ’red’ beer by these folks. can8ianben (608), Pasadena, California, USA Jul 21, 2008 Much maltier than what I expect from a wheat beer. Unfortunately served with a huge orange slice on the rim. Cloudy, almost orange in color. Subtle citrus and spice hints, but not yeasty enough in my opinion. A decent summer beer, but like most of the Rickards offerings, could be better. berkshire_john (1057), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jul 19, 2008 Draught in Tadoussac, Quebec. Cloudy straw clour with a dense white head; slightly citrus aroma, but lacking the usual character of a witbier; wheaty, refreshing flavour; but lacking any finish. Incredibly bland.
