jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2006 An unexpected rating at the end of a funny evening in Halifax, draft at Dooly’s pool hall. Ever so slightly hazy golden body with a moderate creamy white head that lingers with a weak attempt at lacing. Aroma is lightly yeasty with a funky mushroom citrus note to it. Flavour is balanced, sweet but lightly bitter with muted notes of the aroma. Not a great exampleof a wit, but not unpleasant either. Not memorable. It fit the experience rather nicely though.
mcberko (122), British Columbia, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Pours a crisp golden yellow. Aroma is wheat and citrus. Flavour is citrus, orange and yeast. Better than Rickard’s Honey Brown, but not Red. UM02 (23), Quebec, Canada Sep 13, 2009 Considering it is brewed by Molson this is surprisingly decent, probably their best beer. It is at least closer to being a real witbier than most of their other beers are to the style they are labelled with. Make no mistake this is not one of the better witbiers on the market but it is at least something enjoyable to drink which I can not say about many Molson products. In comparison to the better witbiers it is a bit thin but there is a definite taste of wheat and citrus. To be honest I have tasted worse microbrew witbiers than this. As a mass production brewery if Molson could at least raise the level of their other beers to this standard I would have a little more respect for them. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 20, 2009 Pint at Skol Bar in Toronto, hazy blonde with expected white foamy head. Aromas sweet wheat malt, some orange. Taste only hints of orange zest and spice, with an overall dull pale wheat malt presence, moderate body, very light lemon hops. Nothing like the Blue Moon I once tried. Jordiam (70), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 2, 2009 Everyone’s jumping on the Hoey bandwagon. Well, I can say that this is OK, no where near to how good Hoegaarden is, but it’s nice to have on tap when they’re not much else to choose from. Pours like a White white a bright translucent yellow with a fast-fade head. Typical aroma of citrus and spices... kind of faint though. The taste is a little bit light, but refreshing at least. More emphasis on the citrus taste and not quite as balanced as a white should be. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 24, 2009 Draft (in Niagra): Poured a hazy yellow with a nice head. The aroma was spice, yeast and citrus. The flavor was citrus, pepper, lemons, oranges, touch of cloves, and yeast. Overall, a tasty try at this style. hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2009 Tap in Toronto. Sweet mild citrus hops aroma with notes of wheat and orange and lemon zest. Hazy, yellow orange body with an impressively long-lasting thick and creamy little white head. Muted lemon hops and tangy wheat hints in the flavour. Medium body, light tingly astringency. bulldogops (153), Alberta, Canada Jul 18, 2009 On tap at the Crown and Tower. Served with an orange slice. Cloudy yellowy-orange beer with a rich, white foam. First rank amongst Canadian imitator witbiers (so far). Aroma is fairly potent, citrus (orange) and coriander. Taste is pleasant at first, but the finish is too bland/weak for a "witbier". Still a nice summer beer for when they don’t have Hoegaarden on tap. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 17, 2009 Weak! Boring! The aroma is weak, some malt, orange peel, spicy. The appearance is a VERY hazy orange, thick white head. Looks like a liquified cream-scicle. The flavor was also weak, like a typical witbier, but weaker: malt, orange peel, spicy. The finish was non-existent, like drinking water. Medium thickness. This beer is weak. Woefully weak.
