On tap @ the brewpub. Pours clear nearly black with small but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, with touches of caramel, coffee and chocolate. Sweet, malty flavour, with notes of chocolate and touches of roasted coffee beans. Warming alcohol presence. Roasty aftertaste. Nice.

Pours out of the bottle in a clear deep brown colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of high alcohol and malt. Taste of mild malt, nuts, liquer, roses and caramel. Very high alcohol tastewise loaded. Not nice or easy to drink, average one.

Bottle at Hamburger Craft Beer Day 2012, dark brown with a beige hea and wort on the nose, the palate brings treacle and roast malt, becoming dark-sweet and lightly peppery. Could use a little more depth though.

9/11/12/13/12/13
