Olde England meets the New World in this strong, warming golden ale, brewed by Peter Scholey. Master brewer for the late and much-lamented Brakspear Brewery of Henley-on-Thames, England, Peter started his own brewing operations in 2003. Bad Elf is a hop-lover’s dream, balancing a generous amount of famous English malt with an astounding 45 ounces of fresh hops – including American Cascade – per barrel.

Shared bottle at local tasting . Pours clear deep golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of bready malts, light citrussy hops. Taste is fruity, with some bready malts, dry and full bodied. Very good, fresh and moreish beer.

Pours clear gold with a finger of foamy head. Grassy grain aroma. Surprisingly flat mouth feel given the foam. Taste is biscuit, caramel and citrus with a slightly metallic finish.
