Soonah (519), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 12, 2008 Poured somewhere between pale gold and copper. Fizzy white head that failed to sustain, but managed to produce spotty lacing. The initial aroma is light, tart citrus with plenty of malt. As it opens up the malt rolls over the citrusy hops. The flavor is malt with some spicy, citrusy hops trying to keep pace. It does in fact taste like and English Ale with hops thrown in. Thin mouthfeel. Nothing special.
Jukkabro (2405), Tampere, Finland Sep 1, 2008 Light orange colored with cloudy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Sweet hopped aroma with some aromatic perfume, chocolate, lemon and mild plum. Medium bodied. Flavor is rich with lemon and caramel in start, strong bitterness in dry aftertaste. Still some chocolate lasts. Well, too bitter after so sweet and sugary start. Gusgus (123), Tanumshede, Sweden Aug 30, 2008 Bottle 2007. Pouurs cloud yellow with medium white head. Estery fruity and warmilngly alcoholic. Bananas and lime. A hint of bakers yeast. Sweet orangey and soft. Flavor is soft malty with oranges and lime. Slightly sour grapey finish. Naka (428), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2008 Shared w/ Juart. Pours a clear amber color. Small thick fizzy head. Disappeared very quickly. The nose is brown sugar, some plum, grassy, and some mint? From the taste, if you didn’t tell me it was a Christmas ale, I wouldn’t know. A little bitter caramel flavor, some grassy grainy flavors, but not really any of the spice from the nose common in X-mas ales. Medium body without much carbonation. Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 27, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes of elderberries. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of elderberries, oranges, flowers, hops, and perfume, leading to a dry finish. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 25, 2008 Name: Ridgeway Bad Elf
