A Very English Black Ale
Bad King John is black, bitter, and intense. Like the ruthless man it honors. Do not come here looking for subtlety!

Aye, ratebeer is sayint this is stout. When I poured this to glass I had look of color and though this could be one due the blackness which is quite not pitch black but close. Definition ’a bit more dark than typical cola drink’ is close. There is no clear smell. Taste is malty, and somewhat smoky. Afterwards waterness takes over. Drinkable, nothing special. I have hunch maker did not want to offend anyone, so none got to be pleased either.

Stout je kategória pív ktoré sú pre mňa ako stvorené, Bad King John je pekný príklad ako má stout vyzerať najchutnejší je po tom, ako ho už prehltnete, výrazná chuť alkoholu nadpriemerná horkosť

Not my first choice, poor taste, gives the impression of been some watery, the only thing salvageable is the design of the bottle

Black pour with a thin light tan head. Lovely sweet dark nose of fig and light cocoa tones..Smooth and semisweet flavor with some sort of stone fruit tone like date or raisin, combined with gentle stouty black malt and light chocolatiness. Sturdy but quaffable. No nonsense, very English.

Pours opaque dark brown, just a lacing of head. Mild aroma of dark roasted malts. Medium-light body. Fairly lively for having so little head, with noticeable carbonic acid on the finish. Lightly sweet. Not super complex, but very drinkable.

Dark reddish brown with no head. Not much aroma, a bit roasty. Unusual flavor, sort of like cream soda + cola + a hint of coffee. Thin body, would almost be better with a bit more carbonation.

Dark brown colored, small non lasting beige head. Aroma is some caramel, some chocolate, bit of cardboard. Taste is moderate sweet caramel, toffee, some chocolate and a bit of toastiness, some fruit and good amount of cardboard. Low bitterness. Medium bodied, lively carbonation.

Bottle @ DŘE. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, chocolate, dark fruits and some herbal notes. palette: medium aroma, average carbonation, medium body, average malt sweetness, average bitterness, medium duration and an oily texture. Overall: more like a dark ale than a stout, but well balanced.

DIBBLE (102) - Worthing, West Sussex, ENGLAND - MAY 6, 2015
Yeasty malty aroma. Tan head dissipated to none over clear cola coloured beer. Fairly thick mouthfeel with a subtle fizz on the tongue. Presence of yeast is noticeable alongside the subtly sweet yet bold dark malt flavour. Herbal bitter edge leads to a dry sweet malt finish.
