COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If Maris Otter malt is the body of our beer then hops are its spirit. Each year we choose our hops not just by farm but by individual garden and time of harvest. One older variety, Challenger, and one new,Boadicea, used as unprocessed whole leaf hops. Extravagant, perhaps, but delicious.

Pours a medium brown color with red hues. Aromas of hops, malts, and a slight nose of nuts. Flavor is hoppy, with a sweet malt taste. Was watery towards the end.

Aroma is minimal with some biscuit citrus at times. Taste is similar with biscuit dominating, a bit bland.

Nice amber color, large bubbly off white head that had a nice hang time then faded slowly to leave a decent lace behind.Malty hoppy aroma with a nice citrusy side, some sweetness and maybe a bit of some pine buried in there as well but kinda on the faint side.Very highly carbonated, almost to the point of giving an acidic feel on the pallate. The flavor starts off with a mdeicinal side but after a few more sips it seems to go away.It changes to lightly malty and medium strong pine and citrus flavor with a decent bitterness coming on in the middle and fading at the very end of the tasting. The brew is not bad at all starts off rough and finishes up a little better. It’s worth a try but not something i’d like to return to more then once.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop marked best before 5/28/06 poured a small sized head of frothy medium sized white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated orange colored body. The aroma was musty and dirty socks. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The weak flavor contained notes of mild malt hop and slight bitter. It was a bit off of the mark . Not one that I would buy again as I have had much better.

Bottle from Super Saver. Dark straw pour with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of slight hopcitrus and tannins. Not much in the aroma. The taste was very piney hoppy, very dry, with an amazing lack of sweetness, even for this style. Light palate that lacked complexity or balance. As it warmed, it acquired some citrusy and tropical fruity notes, but it always remained a mouth puckering piney hoppy beverage that never showed me any of its supposed Maris Otter malt. I call this one a big disappointment, never to pass my lips again.

The aroma has wonderful floral hops with malt and citrus. The appearance is gold with an amber hue. The head is average. The flavor has wonderful lightly toasted malt with a quite noticeable bitterness. The palate is soft with carbonation. There is a hint of lemon in the aftertaste as well as some astringentness. Overall though it’s a decent beer.

NERAX 2005 Golden in color with small white lacing. Aroma of floral hops and faint grassy/herbal character. Flavor is mildly hoppy, with a touch of grainy malt sweetness. Medium body low carbonation.
