COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If Maris Otter malt is the body of our beer then hops are its spirit. Each year we choose our hops not just by farm but by individual garden and time of harvest. One older variety, Challenger, and one new,Boadicea, used as unprocessed whole leaf hops. Extravagant, perhaps, but delicious.

yellow/orange/amberish slightly hazy liquid. doesn’t really pour a head, thin white lacing around the edges. looks stable and balanced, has a nice colour. aromascape is malty with a hoppy leafy/herby side; juniper and citrus. taste is really well balanced. bitterness is light but tasty, goes extremely well with the hoppy sweetness and slight sourness. the palate is what makes the taste work so good. a medium body, with a surprisingly thick texture. carbonation is low and works spot on. i was scared that this might turn out to be a disappointment, but ridgeway did a good job again. a tasty easy bitter with a very deep inner balance; it is very good for what it is.

500 ml bottle.
Pours an unclear dark copper colour with a small white head. Aroma of grassy hops and nuts. Flavour of grassy hops, malts, hay and some toffee. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a dry malty finish. Average bitter.

Pours cloudy with a thick white head. Mild, pear like aroma. Very refreshing taste, some grapefruit but not much else going on. Strong tangy after taste. Definitely not very complex, but delicious all the same.

Bronze colour. Grainy, scent of bread with metallic notes. Grainy, bitter ale with more metallic notes in the flavour. Citric acid in the flavour too. Fortunately metal is in the background enough and doesn’t completely ruin the experience.

Not a lot of carbonation, so a pretty mild nose atop an orange body. Pretty good weight for mouthfeel with a little more carbonation coming through. Very mild bitter flavor, with a pretty dry slightly floral finish -- you could easily have quite a few of these. I like this beer, and I think it’d be wonderful on draught (ultimate session beer).

Clear copper orange; medium white head. Light aroma, mandarin orange? DRY, hoppy flavor, leaning towards metallic, but Not in a bad way. Soft grainy aftertaste. Light bodied, very drinkable. Consider this my introduction of sorts with British beers; I don’t know of anything like this in the U.S. The kind of beer that you want to have around in large quantities, simple but very effective. Unfortunately a little cost-prohibitive here though.

500ml Bottle - Amber with a foamy head. Malty and fruity aroma with a hint of banana and walnut cake. Nicely balanced taste with notes of hops, malt and a slightly grainy finish. Steady and fairly tasty.
