COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. Allís well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesntít it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place. Peter Scholey, Brewer.

Poured a clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is banana, apples, earthy, floral, herbs, and citrus. Taste is raisins, apples, lemon, caramel, and very boozey. I like barley wine but this is odd.

A copper coloured Barley Wine Style Ale with high white head. Aroma is vineous, malty. Taste is bitter and light sweet. Pretty strong.

Cask at Churchkey. Poured a golden color, with a small white head. Aroma is boozy malts, some light earthy citrus, dirty. Light spices. Corn, heat. Total meh unfortunately. Itís like these beers get progressively worse as they get higher in alcohol.

Clear orange, small white head. Nose is caramel, malt, hoppy notes, orange hints, licorice. Flavor is heavy on the caramel, hops and alcohol, fruity notes. Finishes with hops and booze. Very simplistic barley wine. Bottle shared by martjoobolut, thanks!

All of these names pretty much describe the beer, although this isnít necessarily criminally bad, just mostly bad. Pours brown with ok head and lacing. Lots of sugary sweetness and a little weird tang. Syrupy in consistency. Tap at Churchkey thanks to Radagast.

500ml bottle picked up at Wilburs
Pours clear dark golden with a small off-white head, no lacing. Aroma is malty, toffee, ripe fruit and brown sugar. Flavors are toasted malts, sweet caramel, dark fruit, sweet with a medium bitter finish
Gotta say, Iím kind of disappointed.

0,33L bottle, BB 07.10.17. Pours clear amber with off-white head. The head doesnít stay. Aroma is somewhat dirty, malt, caramel, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, caramel, malt. Body is somewhat watery (and its 10,5% brew?!). Overall: the worst barley wine I have tried, at least the alcohol is somewhat covered..

500 ml bottle. More often then not I end up buying some of these cheesy Christmas beers, and this one I bought last weekend. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a mostly clear reddish/copper color with about a half inch light tan head that didnít stay around for too long. The brew smells like raisins, bananas, caramel, dried fruit and a bit of sweet spiciness. It tastes like dried fruit, raisins, caramel, over-ripened bananas, plums, and apple/apple skins. The 10.5% ABV is hidden pretty well. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit creamy and coating with low/moderate carbonation. Itís OK overall, but not one of the better barleywines Iíve had. With that being said, itís certainly worth a try at least once. $6.49 a bottle.

Bottle. Clear copper. Small fast ivory head. Small malty aroma. Strong and sweet. Banana, cyrup, plum. Not very balanced.
