"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. All’s well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesnt’t it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place. Peter Scholey, Brewer.

A really classy Barley Wine . I enjoyed this ale and felt great .I tried to ponder the complexty and all that but mostly got a rich , buttery malT character and abundance of fruit esters like peach. This is good shit. HAPPY HOLIDAYS in June.

Red beer with a brief and minimal head. Lots of sweet sugared/canned peaches on the nose. Full bodied. Oily. Lots of caramel and dried fruit. Very lovely brew for slow drinking.

Pours amber honey w/ medium semi creamy froth that slowly reduces to a shallow layer of spatter w/ lacing. Aroma of malted sweet cherries and greens. Full nectar w/ soft residual effers. Theres a defined malty sweetness upfront w/ flavors of cherries, caramel apple, pear, sugary leather, and a pinch of tobacco between the cheek and gum makes you feel ok. Theres also a salt rock flavor I catch after the swallow. The finish is long and sweet but not sickening w/ a burning bitterness to patch things up. Overall: sweet w/ complex flavors. Pretty easy to drink. I can taste the alcohol but it does’nt bother me. Highly recommended.

Clear amber with medium head. This beer is more of an imperial pils to me....Sweet with some good fruitiness to it. Really enjoyable. Not too over the top, just damn good. 10.5% is hidden well. Big fan.

Pours a three finger off-white head that fades to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Nice clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Faint malty nose. Flavor sweet, some tartness keeps the sweetness down, high ABV stays hidden. $7.60 for a 500ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME.

Amber pour, with medium head. Has some honey and spices, and was pretty smooth. Strong alcohol burn, but overall a great brew.

Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a large white head. The aroma was rather pleasant mix of sweet caramel and ripe fruits. The flavor was sweet and fruity with elements of caramel and molasses. The finish was very long, sweet and fruity.

Appearance: Clear amber/copper with thin fizzy quick to disappear ivory head. Aroma: Raisin, prune, tinned peaches in syrup, liquorice, syrup, floral, toffee, cherry, marzipan and vinous. Taste: Medium sweet, low/medium sour and low bitterness. Palate: Thick coarse texture, medium body, average carbonation, lingering dry liquorice, syrup, fruity sweet finish with a sourness and burnt caramel. Ending alcohol warmth. Comments: Very tasty.
