"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. All’s well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesnt’t it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place. Peter Scholey, Brewer.

Bottle... Crystal clear amber in color with a pillowy white head - lots of lace. Aroma is very sweet with a strong nose of cane syrup. Flavor is very floral, sweet, almost cloying. There is a strong appearance of alcohol especially towards the finish. A very decent barley wine.

Bottled 50cl. It pours a beautiful bright clear light amber beer with a small creamy nicely lacing light beige head. Marshmallow, peach, white chocolate, candy floss, fudge, almonds, alcohol and lychee showing up in the nose which is remarkably interesting and unique. Full bodied. Very low carbonation. Syrupy. Warming on the swallow. Not much bitterness. Sweet. Leafy. Slight fennel and cinnamon reminiscence in the finish which is a bit short. A beer with plenty of character.

Aroma has rather lots of raisins, some toffee and alcohol. Also some ripe fruits like apricot and hints of moldy cellar. Flavour is sweetish with apricot, raisins and some warming alcohol. Also hints of moldy cellar in the background. Nice and warming!

Dark clear copper with just thin layer of foam on top. Aroma is highly malty with dark bread, dark ripe fruits, bit caramel, apples. Thick oily feel, full body, sweet with warming alcohol and bit bitterness, low carbonation, really malty with long malty finish. Bit too much alcohol but nice deep palate and bit nuances also.
