3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown bordering on black. Lots of ruby color. Short lived white head that became a thin collar.
Licorice root, caramel, and sweet coffee nose. Not a lot of roast in the nose.
Taste is like the nose but thinner. Quite watery. Not too bad though. Some port notes.
Not a bad beer at all. Quite easy to drink. Well hidden ABV

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
very dark brown - almost black . tan head that goes quite quickly . aroma is mainly mild coffee . quite enticing . taste is mild coffee , sweetish at start , some caramels , toasted malt . A nice light touch of acidity at the finish . Carbonation is very low and mouthfeel is surprisingly watery for 8% abv . I would have preferred a little more body just to slow the intake down a bit . As it is now it slides down way too fast . Hides its strength well Quite decent

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with an average off-white head. The aroma is light, mostly of roasted malts, but the taste is more complex, with dark malts, caramel, vanilla, and licorice notes. The body is watery and carbonation is flat, making it very drinkable.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe, King’s Lynn
Black color, small head. Very mild aroma of roasted malts. The body structure is lighter than expected, but not too thin, indeed increasing the drinkability; quite good flavor of dark caramel, with just a touch of roasted malts and of oak. It has some fresh note too.
Well brewed, balanced and pleasant to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with a crema head that fades to a coat. Aroma of mocha, tar, licorice, grass, prunes. A little boozy. Silky mouthfeel, low carbonation. Taste has dark fruits, treacle licorice, mocha, a touch of sourness. Firm bitterness in a brief dry finish. Satisfying and balanced with a lovely texture.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 MLB bottle. Pours jet black with a short, tan head that quickly drops to a thin skin of tiny bubbles. The aroma is sweet blend of dark fruit and dark roasted malt; like a hybrid of a stout & a barley wine. Medium-bodied with soft, fine carbonation and a somewhat drying, vinous finish. The flavor profile leans much farther toward the sweet fruity side of the aroma than I expected: plum, red grapes, and dark fruity and roasty malt. While it’s not quite what I was expecting, it’s a well-made and tasty beer.

1pt poured into a tulip. Black with creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cherry, wood. Lots of cherry in the flavor. Also burnt toast. This is a liquid version of toast with a light spread of cherry preserves. Finish is long and roasty. Nice brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This looks like a cola. A decent nose is simple but nice. Chocolate syrup and some roasted effects. The flavor is chocolate with lighter hop notes. Like the nose, this is also syrupy. It is also lactic and lightly sour. I just peeked at the ABV and was surprised at it being that high. Not bad but not even close to the top.
