Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark Apr 12, 2008 Bottled at Bishops Arms, Helsingborg. Almost black coloured. Aroma of liquorice, coffee and ripe fruits. Sweetish fruity notes and roasty bitter notes in the flavour. Medium bodied. A little too many raisins for my likings, but still decent.
Angeloregon (1823), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from John’s Market Place in Multnomah Village, Portland, OR--Poured a deep hearty black-brown body with a medium soft grey head. Nose of liquorish, vanilla, milk, mild sourness, chocolate, toffee, and roasted java beans. Great full-on malt spine with bittering hops imparted in finish. Mildly cloying and perhaps a little out-dated (John’s is known for this) but overall, a welcomed companion. taunusmies (230), Finland Aug 11, 2008 Pours dark brown, almost black, with a big foamy head.
