Bottle. Clear orange gold with small white head Notes of honey and hint of pine in the aroma plus alcohol. Taste is very sweet again honey syrupy. Very smooth faintest sign of carbonation only. Ok but not distinguished.

McNeillR (983) - SCOTLAND - APR 5, 2014
Still orangey amber, ringed lacey head. Messy banana and rubbery roasted sweet nose. Tapered sweetness, oily and odd fruitiness. Rusty caramel, tinny oxidised. Soft enough for a Barely Wine, first few corners taken light a frothy blonde before a burned darning booziness.

Bottle, Cheers Stu666, April Not So Fools Tasting

rand (1220) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 9, 2014
Bottle 330 ml from Le Grain d’Orge - Crissier (CH). Coppery beer with a fugacious head. Malted aromas, alcohol, dry fruits, apricot-orange jam, hops. The taste is soft, sweetened and syrupy, with a citrusy bitterness. Thick beer with a voluptuous sweetness, very sweetened and a bitterness low balanced, alcohol-liquor of bitter orange.

guzgorog (171) - FRANCE - FEB 24, 2014
Bière blonde ambrée avec un très léger col de mousse. Nez floral, miel et alcool. En bouche, l’alcool est très présent, malt et miel, faible carbonation, amertume moyenne. Pas mauvais mais c’est loin d’être imperial ...

Bottled (thanks fonefan!). Orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, nectary, mildly honeyish and alcoholic. Flavour is floral, fruity, som wooden and resiny notes to it. Mild flavour but still a bit boozy.

Sample at a tasting. Amber body with a white head. Sweet malt, but something chemical about it.

Almost clear amber beer, small white head. Smooth palate, slightly soft. Mild fine carbonation. Sweetish malt - light dry cream and a hint of toffee. Mild spice and mild dried fruits. Sweet and spicy finish. touch of raw malt. Not bad.

33 cl bottle vintage 2012 @ wPBF’14. Bottle #10990
Quite pale appearance for BW. Aroma is musty with cellar notes, some apricot, ripe fruits and hints of cardboard. Flavour has alcohol, cardboard, booze and apricot. Finishes with some herbal hops. Drinkable.

TBone (11947) - Pori, FINLAND - JAN 4, 2014
Bottle 330ml vintage 2012 (WPBF)
Clear golden color, small white head. Alcoholic, green apple, some grainy aroma. Medium-bodied. Alcoholic, grainy, light fruityness and grassy hoppyness. A bit too weak malt base for "real barley wine". Now turns a bit more like a good malt liquer. Burning alcohol in the aftertaste.
