Mediocre English barley wine but still hit the spot on a cold night. Thin corona, golden body. Strong aroma of bitter oranges, plus butter and bread. Flavour dominated by Cointreau and alcohol. Minimal hop presence - almost verging on malt liquor territory here. Sweet and boozy. Guilty pleasure for mine - I like it more than the overall package probably warrants. (330ml bottle from Leura Cellars.)

Well I really enjoyed this one. Nice barley wine that is not to sweet. Nice balanced flavor also. Clear amber-ish color with a tan head. Ok lacing down the glass. Not to sweet like many other and well masked alcohol. Toffee, dried fruits and bready flavor.

From my backlogg: Bottle from Sysyembolaget. Clear golden beer with an offwhite head. Malty fruity caramell aroma. Malty caramell sweetish flavour with some vanilla notes.

Bärnstensfärgad med vit skum. Doftar och smakar mycket karamellmalt och russin. Lite spritig men med bra fyllighet och beska

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear pale amber, small head. Boozy nose with apples, butter and caramel. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Syrup diluted with sheer alcohol. Boozy finish. Just as generic and poorly executed as you’d come to expect from Ridgeway.

Mmm, det här var rätt okej, men smaken sitter inte helt på plats, tyvärr. Kroppen är stabil och balansen likaså, men smaken var inte helt okej.

Flaska 2015. Bärnstensfärgad öl med gulvitt skum. Doft av russin, frukt, malt och bröd. I smaken tillkommer karamell och viss jordighet. Hade nog vunnit på lite lagring.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours clear deep gold with a small white head. The nose is sweet, toasty, oily, stewed peach, orange, melon and pear. The taste is sweet, rich, oily, honey, candy, pear, apple pie, candy, caramelised sugars and some alcohol boost with a sweet, warming finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Simple barley wine.

Bottle share at Paul’s. Vintage 2012 bottle #10742, 10%. Pale orange, slight haze, small foamy white head. Aroma is toffee, orange, simple sugars. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is sweet, caramel, earthy astringent resin cutting through it. Sweet n simple barley wine.

Pours deep amber with some off-white head. A caramel aroma with significant alcohol. Low bitter finish. Tastes more like a trippel than a barley wine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
