Aroma has roasted malt, dark fruitiness, berries and coffee notes. Flavor is roasted malt, sweetness, coffee, licorice. Light roasted, quite sweet and light bodied for this high abv. Drinkable, easy but lacks depth and complexity.

Smell of roasted malts, metal, chocolate. Dark brown colour, high brown head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, chocolate, some tar. Bitter and sweet, sweetness gets more through with warmth. Soft but plentiful carbon. Surprisingly watery when cold, no longer when warmer.

The beer in the glass is dark reddish brown almost black coloured with a small tan head. The aroma is rather mild with roasted malt, dark chocolate, some sweetness and grassy hoppy notes.
The flavour is very roasted malty with ashy and dark chocolate notes and some grassy hoppy bitterness. Balanced. Very drinkable for a 8% porter.

Very dark brown colour and a beige head. Very tasty and rich but maybe not as much as an imperial should be(?) anyway a quality beer with delicious hops.

Good "basic" porter, but doesn’t wake any further feelings. Some smoked roasted malts, but nothing really tasty. I waited a bit more, still good beer.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 Head disappears rather quickly. Roasted flavor, from the mix of malts the most powerful is roasted ones. Maybe too powerful? Texture could be thicker, main flavor is roasted, burned even? Dry aftertaste, doesn’t wake any warm feelings.

02.01.13. Beige, med. size foam that disappears quickly. Very dark brown, clear liquid. Sweet, caramel, a bit of banana; different aroma overall. Tastes slightly bitter, malty. Low carbonation, smoothish mouthfeel. Aftertaste dryish bitter, some alcohol, a bit unpleasant.
Meh, pretty one-dimensional. Not what I look for in a porter.

50 cl, bottled. Pours black with a nice beige head. Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee, grains. Licorice. Taste: Noticeably sweet, balancing bitter. Mild banana. Fruits. Palate: Light-medium body, some carbonation. Decent.

Kaatuu lasiin täysin mustana ja niukkavaahtoisena. Vaahto myös katoaa melko nopeasti jättäen pienen reunuksen. Haju on palaneen paahteinen, jopa hieman savuinen. Siinä on myös lakritsia ja hieman hedelmääkin. Paahteinen mallas kuitenkin jyrää vahvasti. Maku on paahteinen, lakritsinen, kahvinen ja hieman hedelmäinenkin. Samaa savuisuutta löytyy kuin hajussa, mutta se on nyt taustalla. Suutuntuma on tasainen ja hieman karhea. Suht maistuva porter, jossa kuitenkin hieman savua ja tuhkaisuutta. Ne onneksi jäävät taka-alalle ja maku on miellyttävä.

Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and licorice. Taste is roasty and sweetish with hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty. Quite balanced imperial porter.

Really smooth and full-bodied, not so roasted as porters usually are, almost stout, moderate carbonation, wide flavor spectrum.
