2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours clear gold with a thin white head...nothing at all red about this beer. Aroma has sweet fruitiness. Flavor is candied fruits, raisin, and booze. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is boozy/sweet.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear copper with a minimal head. Aroma of dried fruits, toffee, caramel, and syrupy maltiness. The taste is really sweet and fruity, more fresh than dried. Some alcohol is around too but not too much. Mild hoppiness in the finish. The palate is medium bodied and sticky, could be a bit fuller. A decent, warming British Barley Wine.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep copper color with a 1 finger head on the pour. Some lacing, but not much. Aroma has notes of fruit preserves or maybe fruit liqueur. Lots of malt. Yeasty, with hints of fruity liqueur, then it mellows on your palette to a dry, clean hop finish. Mouth-feel is thick and full bodied; very lightly carbonated. Barleywine or English Strong Ale? Whatever the intended style, this is an amazing beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep golden color, fine white head. Hoppy aroma. Sweet flavor with spices, alcohol and sugar, thankfully a slightly drier finish. Full body, medium carbonation. Not really my thing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours bright orange with a small head. Aroma is orange squash, caramel malt and alcohol. Taste has a lot of toffee sweetness and red berries throughout. Not intense, pleasant to drink and no alcohol.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
2010 Bottle from Herr Dutchie Ale House via coldbrewky. Say in my cellar for about a year and a half. Pours clear golden hue with small head, visible carbonation. Nose of light caramel and hay. Taste is strong of hay and a vomit like flavor. Other than the puke, its bland. Full body. Aging did this improve this creature.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a pale copper with a 2-finger head that slowly dissipates to quarter-inch foam. Fairly good retention. Aromas of caramel, alcohol, cinnamon, hops. Tastes of orange, ginger, cinnamon and maybe a hint of anise. Malty finish with citrus, yeast, and spice. Very light carbonation. Not bad. Points for high alcohol content (11.2%).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 2012 vintage. Amber, copper clear. Nose has sweetish malts, but also a lot of hops - green, some citrus, perfumy, earthy, peppery. Body is thickish, a little sweet. Caramel, bitterness, pine needles. Not that bad, quite tasty. Doesn’t strike me as as over-malty as barley wines usually are. Something inbetween a bw and an iipa. A certain intensity is lacking though.

Bottle. Clear light copper color with a medium thick foamy head. Aroma of apple, plum and sour yeast. Flavors are caramel and sugar. Sweet and bitter finish. Too sweet for me.
