3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Whatís up with all those low ratings? This is not a pretentious beer. Good value for a English pale ale. Appareance, perfect for what it is. Aroma, almonds and nuts. Not oily though. And well, I know, not the best palate, not the best balance, but this is a good beer for what is. All of you rating it with low notes, is not a damn mikkeller!

500 ml bottle from backlog notes. Pours a clear orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, mild fruit character, a mild hop profile, with light bitterness, seemed older and rather bland.

A little more hops makes this a little better than the Oxfordshire for me. Pours amber, a little light than Oxfordshire ESB. Light citrus dose here, texture is a little cloying. Cask at Churchkey.

Bottle. Light amber with an off-white head. Bit of bread, bit of earth, bit of straw, bit of vomit, bit of caramel, bit mellow, bit bland, bit boring. Dull for the strength.

A generic bitter, not overdoing it either way, not a roller coaster ride. Looks good, rest average good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle, from Jungle Jimís in Eastgate. Clear orange color. Good thin off-white head. Little lace. Medium body. Smooth light - to - medium carbonation. More clean finish. Mostly clean malt-forward biscuity flavor, little metalic.. Saw "roast malts on the description. That is interesting. Kind of sweet, light bitter, with a light hop profile, but mostly just muted. Not bad, though. Itís English-style all around, and a solid example of that kind of pale ale.

Bottled 21/12/12. A brown beer which poured headless. Sweet and fruity. Earthy with a slight tang of tartness. Some chocolate malt notes but itís the sweetness which dominates.
