Dec 1, 2006 Sweet raisin, slight molasses aroma. Should be a little darker given the name. Lots of mouthfeel. An odd combination o flicorice, coffee, and ? in the taste. Good stuff.

Dec 22, 2004 Bottle. Deep dark brown, tan head. Big malty and fruity aroma. with hints of roast and coffee. Smooth malty flavor, with lots of dark roasted yummyness. Some hops creep in as well. Chocolate. Reminds me of a less hoppy Alpha Klaus. Real nice brew

Jan 9, 2009 2008 Bottle. I can’t believe what a low rating this has. A WONDERFUL holiday stout that I wish I could get year round. Smells of berries and dark chocolate. Pours a thin dark, syrupy texture with a small cream-colored head. Tastes of roasted malts, cocoa, berries, and slightly of alcohol. Palate is very even, though a bit oily. This is a great beer...I don’t know who in their right mind would think less of it.

Apr 25, 2008 Updated: Oct 26, 2008This was an awesome beer. It wasn’t as chocolatey as I thought it would be but it was still good. Black as black can be with a tan head. Smoked coffee taste. I would definitely drink this again.
