yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 12, 2007
Tasted 12/01/2007. 500ml bottle conditioned ale from Rumble’s, Wellington. Pours a pale gold with a large, airy white head. Slightly hazy, some protein, but the yeast is pretty well packed down. Lolly-like malt, a touch of caramel, old oranges, floral yeast notes, and noble-like resins on the nose. Dry in the mouth, a touch of barley sugar, but pretty well attenuated. Big hop flavour, almost a sour acidity in it’s bitterness. More noble notes - herbal, lemony, spicy. Medium weight, medium-light carbonation. Alcohol warmth in the early aftertaste. Then that big hop bitterness lingers superbly, especially at the sides of the tongue. Very interesting. I like it more as I think about it. Nice to have a big bitter beer that is not all about fruity hops.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 21, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2010 Medium gold hue with a particulate haze under a short white froth. Zesty hop nose powered by oranges and white grapes; peachy esters; toasty malts. Light sweetness, bright acidity and punchy bitterness. Medium-light body, bustling carbonation, slick texture. Crisp and quaffable with a nice smack of hops. 50 cl bottle, best before 12.6.2010.

Bottle. Yellow and quite bitter with a sharp Finnish. Some citrus but a bit too bitter for my taste. Not bad though, and worth trying.

Bottle kindly donated by my neighbour, Rob. Pours with a pale yellow mistiness if you’re not careful, and I’m not. Puts hairs on your chest. Rocky white suds. Leafy hopsack snout. Clean, crisp, slightly Triple karmeliet floral hoppiness with a delicate biscuity aftertaste. Suggestions of rose and orange. Bit of a watery finish. Lacks the lip-smacking hoppy bite of ridgeway Blue ,but a nicely balanced and zesty bottled effort nonetheless.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a toffee and hopped aroma, the flvaour is vinous and deeply toffee and bitter. Overall a nicely toffee and hopped beer.

sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 24, 2010
(Bottled, sampled 2010-01-08) Hazy golden with a small head. Fresh nose of citrusy hops, perfume, and some honeyish maltiness. Also flavor dominated by exotic, fresh citrus fruitiness - although some stuffy ashiness lurking around the corner. Slightly barnyardy, too. Light to medium body, quite refreshing, and not watery. Soft carbonation. A quite nice summer drink, if you can get it fresh.

Bottle at SBWF 06. Weak citric aroma, not bad. Cloudy orange colour. Nice citrus fruit flavour. Easily drinkable. Probably good for summer.
