COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New for 2009, Reindeer Droppings comes to us from our the much-beloved Ridgeway Brewery.
Falling from the sky like little bombs of flavour come the Reindeer Droppings! Each one is sweet like California raisins, but bitter and pungent like a freshly peeled grapefruit, lip-smackingly tasty...then ’pow!’ it’s gone.

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 09.01.2010
Aroma has English hops, some toffee and citrus. Flavour is slightly tart with citrus, grapefruit, some English hops, grainy notes, toffee and hints of hay. Decent.

Bottle. Clear honey gold with a thin head. Aroma is grainy malt. Flavour is a nice mix of US hoppy bitterness and the dryness of an English ale.

Aroma has fruits, citrus, pine, bit sweet malting. Looks like lager. Taste is long, dry and bitter with citrus and pine. As gets warmer there is also caramel and honey. Light body and thin feel, fizzy carbonation. Too dry and bitter to match my idea of a christmas beer. Gets better as gets warmer.

Pigs Ear! Clear gold - amber beer. Rich malt and rich grapefruit hops that have a bitter edge and a bitter aftertaste. Pretty full one - nowt wrong with that!

Bottle from Hayduke. Poured pretty much clear and mid brown. The nose was bread, and fruit and it resembled an English Bitter. The flavor had those components, too. There was also some hops that set it a part from a bitter. They offered citrus and sulfur and worked nicely.

500 ml bottle from Premier Gourmet. Pours amber in colour, with huge frothy white head. Tonnes of lacing. A little sweet aroma and taste, nicely balanced though. Pretty good!

500 ml bottle.
Pours a clear yellow colour with a firm white head. Aroma of grainy malts, grass and some bread. Flavour of grainy malts, surprisingly bitter, grassy hops, bread and citrus. Medium bodied, slick and somewhat dry mouthfeel and a stuffy finish of dry malts and bitter hops. I actually like the bitterness here. Overall this is a bit stuffy and maybe a bit too malty.

Cask at TND: Aroma of butter, grain, diacetyl, and some malt. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, creamy, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Very hazy. Not sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of grain, malt, slight hops, slight diacetyl, and a hint of butter. Light to medium body. Lightly dry texture. Cask carbonation. Malt, diacetyl, grain finish is dry.
