"Is it just my imagination," queried old Santa, surveying the scene, "or is my Elf only getting worse and worse every year? What’s next? Seriously Bad Elf, I’ll wager. Mark my words."

This Very Bad Elf is one fine ale - rich, hardy, and flavorful, brewed to an original 1795 Thames Valley recipe, with a very special pale amber malt that is rarely used nowadays, and balanced by a modest addition of English Fuggle aroma hops. ’Ere’s to your elf!

This beer had a light golden slightly red color. It has a malty aroma. It has a rich balanced malt hop flavor. Well done. A very bad elf for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle): Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of floral hop, spices, malt, yeast, bread. Flavour is much of the same with a slight alcohol note detected. Very meh.

Pours a golden with one finger head with no lacing. Aroma of grassy and herbal good with toasted malt. Moderately bitter and a hi t of sweet. Mild to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Long mildly bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Caramel, toffee, a little fruit and some decent baking spices. Not bad.

Sweet, roasted malt aroma from a crystal clear light copper body with a thin white head. Honey sweetness hits immediately followed by woody dryness that helps balance it out. Then the sweetness seems to resurge and gets a bit cloying. There’s some earthy, mushroomy bitterness and musk after this that settles on the tongue and stays around until the (still very) sweet malt liquor-like end. The alcohol seems stronger than it actually is. Interesting, but seems a bit out of balance.

Deep gold, clear, off-white head. Sweet caramel/toffee malt character, fruity esters, some light earthy/nutty notes, warming alcohol. Fairly sweet and fruity winter warmer.

Draught @ You’ll Never Walk Alone in Kolding. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt and hops. Sweetish, malty flavour, with notes of nuts and hints of hops and alcohol. Roasty and nutty aftertaste. Nice.

Very IPA tasting. Dry as a bone. As a beer drinker I am not a big IPA fan and subsequently not a fan of this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Caramel, coffee, nuts, toast, vanilla, woody. Light copper color, strong taste of alcohol but no fruity esters. Thin head, light carbonation, good bitterness balance. Not overly malty or sweet.

Bottle. Amber beer with a dark cream head. Dark fruit and sweet malt aroma. Caramel and fruity flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel and fruitiness lingers with light earth.
