Bottle. Toasty, cerealy nose. Pours medium gold with a thin white head. Flavour is rich and has a good malty sweetness but the alcohol makes it a bit cloying and syrupy. A fair ale but slightly old-fashioned and in need of freshening up.

4.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
500ml bottle from BevMo. Poured into an imperial pint glass that accommodates the entire bottle. Strong lacing. No aroma to speak of. Alcohol notes hit the taste buds right from the start but served cold it is a quafflable alternative to a stout. A great winter ale that does not feel like a meal. This is my

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt and Halloween candy. Clear copper with white head, lacing. I taste roasted malt, vanilla, sugar, pepper, banana and alcohol in back. Hops in aftertaste. A nice winter warmer.

Light translucent copper color. Lazy, small hot air balloon like carbonation bubbles float aspiringly up the the 2" thick frothy cloud cover. Feint malt syrup nose, with 20 - 40L range Crystal malt influence giving it a slight caramel touch. Medium caramel and cereal grain body. Sweet and smooth. Some stale cereal grains on the finish.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent example of British ale. I would hesitate to call it a strong. More an unhopped amber to my taste. Has a bit of sweetness that isnít cloying. Flavor of apple cider lingers. Not half bad for a free Christmas beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From the bottle, pours a clear reddish golden with a resilient white head. Corny aroma. Taste is mostly malty, a hint of holiday spices but mostly corny malty. Fairly smooth. Ok beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Amber, flattish with slight head. Quite a heavy caramel, toffee flavour, some diacetyl, pretty sweet and sticky. The alcohol pops up toward the close.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
a bit like weak cough syrup it is slick and sweet with a cherryish flavor. mellow and warming nature here only serves to reaffirm my first impression. looks kinda like cough syrup as it is a bit reddish tinged.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tasted from the bottle, on 28/11/2012.
Pours of crystal clear straw color, with an ok head.
Aroma is lolipops but quite chemical.
Taste is super plain, boozy in the end.
Aftertaste is again chemical and soapy.
