Yeeow! Especially for the holidays, a brown ale with real attitude! The malts used to make Warm Welcome are roasted to give a hearty amber-brown color and a warm, rounded nutty taste. This fine ale is dedicated to all you curious brew-lovers out there who ever had serious questions about Santa’s supposed arrival by way of the chimney. (How does he do that, anyway?)

Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a clear amber/chestnut brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweeter English style malts, caramel, light toast, mild nutty character, finishes soft, lighter body.

There was no smoke with this beer. It pours a light brown that is hazy and has a medium creamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma is rather weak. However, I pick up roasted/burnt nuts, hazelnut, caramel, and slight sweetness. The taste is a strong nuttiness and roasted nuts. I also pick up hazelnut, caramel, burnt brown sugar. There is a sweet finish and no bitterness. The drink-ability is extremely high. As the beer warmed up I did pick up more floral and grassy notes. I really enjoyed this beer and highly recommend it!

2012 bottle. Dark hazy copper with a general caramel and dusty nutty nose. Full body though with a boring flavor of general biscuity toast and very light caramalt tones. Light nuttiness and a finish of toasted English muffin.

Ridgeway Warm Welcome has a medium, cream-colored head, a chestnut brown, semi-clear appearance, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is a nice combination of dark sugar, toasted malt, grain, and bread crust. Taste is similar, with a mellow, mild hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is medium, and Ridgeway Warm Welcome finishes crisp, refreshing, and very easy going for a 6% beer. RJT

Nice bready, woody, toasty aroma from a crystal clear copper/amber body with a thick eggshell head. More wood and roasted malt in the flavor with a nice dark caramel sweetness and nuttiness. Medium bodied and slightly creamy, but somehow a bit watery. A good, well made English brown ale.
