COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Yeeow! Especially for the holidays, a brown ale with real attitude! The malts used to make Warm Welcome are roasted to give a hearty amber-brown color and a warm, rounded nutty taste. This fine ale is dedicated to all you curious brew-lovers out there who ever had serious questions about Santa’s supposed arrival by way of the chimney. (How does he do that, anyway?)

Aroma is a little hoppy with spice and caramel notes. Pours copper colored with a white head that clings to the glass. Taste is caramel and spice with a nutty flavor with a dry slightly hoppy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is malty and nutty with notes of marzipan and dried fruit. The flavor is malty and light nutty with light hoppy notes.

2012 bottle. Dark hazy copper with a general caramel and dusty nutty nose. Full body though with a boring flavor of general biscuity toast and very light caramalt tones. Light nuttiness and a finish of toasted English muffin.

Ridgeway Warm Welcome has a medium, cream-colored head, a chestnut brown, semi-clear appearance, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is a nice combination of dark sugar, toasted malt, grain, and bread crust. Taste is similar, with a mellow, mild hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is medium, and Ridgeway Warm Welcome finishes crisp, refreshing, and very easy going for a 6% beer. RJT

Nice bready, woody, toasty aroma from a crystal clear copper/amber body with a thick eggshell head. More wood and roasted malt in the flavor with a nice dark caramel sweetness and nuttiness. Medium bodied and slightly creamy, but somehow a bit watery. A good, well made English brown ale.

Espuma casi nada. El color caramelo nada especial. Cierto aroma que se presenta en cervezas caseras malas. Sabor "no bueno" medio astringente. Medio como grasoso. Algo de especias pero poco. No me gusto parece cerveza casera mal echa. Quizás me toco una mala botella. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a dark hazy brown color with a one finger off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Nice foamy speckled lacing lingers at a nice pace down the sides of the glass. The aroma smelled like Christmas as there was a nice multitude of ginger, allspice, cinnamon, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, light marshmallow, vanilla, light pumpkin all combined wonderfully in a very inviting sort of way. The taste followed the nose with the chocolates really coming out on top. On the palate, this one sat right about a medium in body. Sessionable? Not really, as I found myself sipping this more. The carbonation was extremely smooth but not watery. Overall, wow, I’ve always loved this brown ale as an early winter beer (Christmas), I look forward to the holidays whenever I think of this beer.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep amber, with a white head. Malty, lightly roasted aroma, hops, chocolate, apricot, citrus. Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, quite hoppy taste, caramel, light chocolate notes, orange peel. Quite enjoyable, but comes across as slightly watery for that ABV. (2014-01-24)

Bottle kindly preserved by the RBHD tasting party on Fridtjoffen. Clear copper colored body. Dried fruits and caramel on the nose. Sweet, light salty liquorice and a weak, stale bitterness that lasts and reveal faint stale nuts. Medium to full bodied.

Clear amber. Caramel sweetness with some fruitiness in taste. Similar taste. OK balance. Slightly metallic.
