tricksta_p (1766) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JAN 12, 2015
Aroma of sweet fruit, hint of yeast, sugar, dishwater, metallic notes. Flavour is sugary sweet with a light bitter finish. Like other beers from this brewery, the metallic aftertaste ruins this beer.

bottle . Pours clear blonde, good white head . Smell is malty , sweet a bit , but doesnt have that fresh malty scent . Taste is bitter , metallic grainyness builds up very intense . Rather simple , and I assume the metallic overpowering taste is not what it means to be , but its not per se bad to me ..

Flesje@ prik en tik Ieper. Troebel geel, goede kraag die vlokkerig op het bier blijft liggen. Ruikt zoetig, gist, fruitig. Smaakt zoetig, kruiden, metalig, metalige afdronk.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Dark golden with a big white head. Yeasty fruity aroma. Sweet taste with some harsh metallic finish. Not a very balanced or refined tripel.

33cl bottle Appearance: Deep orange golden colour with a tall white head,. Quite thick and with a good retention. Aroma: Sugar, Malt, heavy yeast, light fruits like peaches. Taste: Quite Sweet following the aroma, First all the sugar and malty sweetness followed by yeast and some odd herbal notes before it finishes metallic and way too alcoholic. Medium thin body, okay carbonation, sticky on the palate. Too sweet and alcoholic compared to average triple.

Alengrin (3019) - BELGIUM - OCT 2, 2014
Tripel with thick, cream white, moussy head, breaking open under influence of the alcohol, and yellowish peach blonde colour, hazy. Fruity and spicy aroma of orange, pineapple, peach, liquorice, coriander, vanilla, grass, lemon peel and quite noticeable, whisky-like alcohol. Fresh fruity taste, sweetish but not sugary, citrussy, quite sharp carbo, soft caramelly maltiness, peppery spice notes (coriander, ginger?) and mild herbal hoppy finish with bready yeastiness, something bark-like and warming, but not too astringent alcohol. Not the most subtle or original of tripels, but I enjoyed this.

Voor een tripel-liefhebber te zijn, vond ik dit niet zo’n goed bier. Ik had er meer van verwacht

(Riebedebie) Bottle 330ml at home, poured into a tulip glass, ABV 9% Deep orange golden colour on the body, tall white head, very thick, collapsing slowly. Spots of lacing left around the glass. Aroma is malty, sugar, heavy yeast, light fruits like peaches. Taste follows, lots of sugar and malts with the yeast following, some herbs too, alcohol, metal notes on the finish, still some stone fruits present. Medium thin body, okay carbonation, dry but also sticky on the palate. Overall an average tripel, but does its job.
