UPDATED: JAN 5, 2010 Deutschlands erstet Bier mit Einkornmalz. Einkorn, das Urgetreide der Erde, hat schon unsere Vorfahren über viele jahrhunderte ernährt. Ähnlich wie der Dinke hat auch das Einkorn einen sehr hohen Eiweißgehalt, der dieser naturtrüben, ökoloschen Bierspezialität ein mildes, fast vabilleartiges Aroma verleiht. Lasst euch von diesem wunderbaren Geschmack überraschen und verwöhnen

Dark amber color, cloudy brownish. Medium beige head not long lasting. Taste of spices, banana, walnuts and hazelnuts, toasted grain and slight hint of caramel, herbal bitterness. Medium body, but rather complex and with light carbonation.

Bottle from Intermarche, Lagoa, Algarve. Muddy translucent brown with a subsiding white collar. Not a looker in the conventional sense. Banana candy, fleshy plum and stone fruit aroma. Good estery banana candy, toffee apple and plum taste with a dusting of clove. Tiny oasis of decent beer in the desert.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2014 33cl from Maruhn and the Bioland shelf at local Alnatura. Once you read the label and realise you are in for a historical grain bill of spelt, emmer and einkorn, this is actually quite a character-strong and subtle brew - especially compared with spelt bread products from the same Biomarket that have "healthy!" written all over them, austerely masking dire lack of flavour. / Chalky, slighty caramel-roast aroma, taste of roasted nuts, (exotic grain) bread crust, fruit sirup, indeed nutmeg and quite some earthy spices from the herbal hops with a citrus zest tang. Subtle and underrated, considering all that. Alas also pretty filling and not sessionable for that. // resampled as part of ProBierclub "Alles IPA?" seminar@Braukusnt Live 02/2014: Marzipan and bourbon vanilla malts, bread crust. Another great malt-forward DE Bio beer.

(bottle) pours a murky amber-brown colour with a frothy light beige head. aroma of sweet spices and heavy banana, slightly mouldy, with a hint of peppermint, hazelnuts and cough drops. flavour is mostly banana and grass, with notes of toffee, more hazelnuts and milk chocolate. light-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Amber, cloudy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty - some wheat and sweetish, light caramel with light roasted mal and bread. Body is medium, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel, light bread. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, light roasted malt and light bread, faint hoppyness. Interesting - not so sweet/not too much caramel.

Pours reddish orange with many yeast particles and a flat sparkling head. Smell has some sweet grains and floral hops. Starts very grainy sweetish, with a dominant bready note. The middle part is bready sweet with some slight flowery hops. Goes into a grainy, bready finish with lots of wheat and some yeast.

Strangely as alias of Moulin des Moines Cerelor. Yeast sticking in the neck of the bottle. Dark copper body with frothy light beige head. Simple aroma (considering the abundance of malt varieties), bit murky, humous, forest malts and nutmeg. Soft carbonation makes the light nutty and dark fruits body more appealing than I expected. Still a clean brew, but with taste and not characterless. (33cl bottle from Coop Tours Centre)
