COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Dolden Sud" is the newest specialty beer from Riedenburger Brauhaus. Selected aroma hops give the beer a fruity and sweet aroma. The body of the fine Riedenburger’s summer barley malt, the bitter hop taste, and the exceptional spicy yeastyness form an luscious alliance of taste.

Hazy dark yellow colour with thin lacy head. Quite some fresh pale malts in the aroma and flavour. Taste is slightly soapy and has some sweet tropical and citrus fruits. Bitterness comes through in the aftertaste.

Corps miellé avec des notes herbacés tranquilles. La finale est molle et essoufflée, manque de vigueur.

15-NOV-2014, bottle @Johan, brought by Erik:-) Hazy orange with lasting high, lacing White head. Aroma is hops. Fruity hops with some flower. Taste much the same with more fruit. Medium body and carbonation. OK.

33cl bottle labeled Sud 38, best by May 2015. Lightly hazed amber with a billowy white head. Smells like a bag of hops, which isn’t a good thing. Grassy and resinous... pretty much a mess of raw hops, but the underlying green banana and lime accents are nice. Medium body, sweet, under-attenuated and syrupy, though the high bitterness stacks up so I guess that’s what they were going for. Sharp and astringent key lime finish.

Herrliches Einsteiger IPA.

Cloudy light tan. Aroma has lemon candy, yeastiness, mandarin, and biscuity malts...nice stuff but a bit too muddled. Taste still has yeast, mild bitterness, nice pale malt sweetness, and a sweet citrus note that reminds me of witbier.

(Riedenburger Dolden Sud IPA) Bottle 330 ml at home, from trade with Beerhunter111, thanks! ABV 6.5% Golden orange colour on the body, big white head, thick, with very good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Very fruity aroma, citrus, some orange/mandarin, grassy hops, a bit of hay that disappears after a swirl of the glass. Taste doesn’t keep up with the standards created by the aroma. Sure it’s fruity but much less, more malts now, grass, light tropical fruits. Mild bitterness on the aftertaste, with good duration though. Medium thin body, good carbonation, only a bit of dryness on the palate. All in all okay IPA, thirst-quenching and refreshing in its simplicity.

At a tasting, thanks Vova, smallish creamy head, very hazy, very light orange to yellow colour, light aroma of citrus and flowers with light spicey hints and some malt, malty grainy flavour with some fruitiness, medium bitterness. Nice and easy.

My Bottom Line:
Subtle honey and resinous hop bitterness merge in this easygoing IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A touch of foam tops the misty pale amber.
-The fluffy carbonation and lean sugars help drinkability.
-The finish is weak for the style.
-This definitely lacks hop brightness.

Bottle.
