"Dolden Sud" is the newest specialty beer from Riedenburger Brauhaus. Selected aroma hops give the beer a fruity and sweet aroma. The body of the fine Riedenburger’s summer barley malt, the bitter hop taste, and the exceptional spicy yeastyness form an luscious alliance of taste.

Decent but not remarkable ipa. Easy bitterness and fruity taste, but not as complex as many great ipas .

There are more and more German interpretations of Anglo-Saxon craft beers nowadays and this is a good example of this new trend, brewed to the Reinheitsgebot. Loose, thin, cream white head over a cloudy yellow honey blonde beer with small protein flakes here and there. Pleasant aroma of flowers, melon, dough, dried banana, cooked potato, garden weeds, orange peel, apricot. Fruity taste, hints of peach and pineapple, minerally carbonation, soft pale malt sweetishness with a honeyish accent, drying finish with powerful floral Euro hops, a bit grassy as well, bittering but only mildly so. Nice balance in flavour; in terms of style, this seems like a return to English IPA coming from an American concept instead of being inspired directly by the traditional English interpretation of the style (becoming even more an alien concept to many now that American hops are conquering the world).

From the bottle poured into spiegelau IPA glass. Was a bit quick and poured all the stuff on the bottom into the glass. Nose is quite fruity tropical but not much citrus there. Interesting Aroma. Taste is Medium sweet, not to dry like a fruity bubblegum i once had. Maybe some peer?! Lower carbonation and Overall not that astringent so its an easy and well balanced beer. I like it!

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2015 pours a murky honey yellow with a steady creamy head and a nice lacing. lots of sediment at the bottom (greenish, looks like hops). aroma of passionfruit, vegetables, grass. flavour of corn, grapefruit, lychee, green pepper, fruit jam. sweet and rather light body for a ipa. not bad overall, especially considering it’s the cheapest ipa around.

F: average white. C: hazy amber opaque. A: fruity hoppy, lemon, grassy, tropical fruity like mango, passion fruit. T: malty, hoppy, but very decent bitterness for IPA, tropical fruit notes, grassy notes, medium body, good carbonation, aroma is ever better than then you find in the taste, all together almost average IPA beer.
