Bottle. Pours a copper toned body with a light white lacing. Fruity candied sugar notes, light plum and citrus tones and a mild bubble gum note. A plumy body that suggest a higher etoh content then whats published here. Fresh and chewy plum and citrus notes with a modest body and a light warming. Great Weizen!

11.2 oz bottle. "XXX Weisse". Judging by the abv and the Goat on the label, I’m guessing this will be closer to a Weizenbock. it pours a noticeably darker hue than the typical hefe, a vibrant orange gold with a sky high, fluffy white head. It is hazy and unfiltered. Smell is noticeably spicy, with a heavy emphasis on clove. There are also hints of lemon. It is a very well refined, basic smellin Weizen. Yes, this is a weizenbock, the flavor is rich and caramally, with the aforementioned clove being a center flavor. Banana is also a big component to the taste here. The mouthfeel is creamy and full-bodied, with a moderate prickling carbonation. It is the bridge between a hefe and a Weizenbock perhaps in the abv department, but I think this would be better classified as a Weizenbock. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-10-2010 23:50:16

Bottle Pours out a hazy gold topped with a white head. Aroma is very nice sweet spice, banans, and candy. Tast is more of the aroma. Lots of spice, and sweet malt. Douglas you had better be right.

12 oz bottle. Pours a translucent orange with almost no head at all. Leaves a little lacing on the glass as it goes down. Floral and citrus aromas abound on the nose. Crisp and clean on the palate with a nice bitter aftertaste. Nothing overpowering. The is a very good hefe. If it weren’t so damned expensive, I’d probably buy it more often.

My bottle is entirely opaque, dark yellow with visible sediment. Very low carbonation. Flavor and aroma of a hefeweizen. A lot of banana, some clove, coriander. Sweet with citrus flavor. A sweet finish.

12 oz bottle labeled as XXX Weisse: Pours a cloudy golden with a spotty-lacing fizzy white head. Aroma of sweet sugary wheat and banana esters with a touch of Hallertau hops. Starts with good fullness and sweet malted wheatiness alongside a light fruity banana character and some doughy Bavarian yeast. Finishes semi-sweet and smooth, a pretty true to style and drinkable weizenbock.

Tasted from 11.3 oz brown bottle into a Willybecher glass. It poured a hazy golden amber color with moussy white foam, great retention and lace. Excellent appearance. Aromas of husky grains, pils malt, loads of bubblegum, faint noble hops, black pepper, clove. Marshmallowy/vanilla pilsner flavors plus mellow wheat. Low-grade oxidation and fusel alcohol flaws. No date, but probably an old bottle. Medium body and carbonation, nice dusty, grainy mouthfeel, lingering bittersweet and yeasty aftertaste. Unusual intersection of flavors, but I’d love to try a fresher bottle.

Bottled at SBWF. Hazy golden, small head. Aroma of banana and wheat bread. Sweettish, soft and mellow with fair sized body. Wheat buns and banana. Mildy warming finish. Laid back and pleasant.
