3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and huge but also loose foamy head. Hop-accented aroma with citrus-fruity and flowery notes and a mildly pale malty background. Quite bitter flavour with a dry mouthfeel, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Soft pale malt character with a fruity and floral hoppy bite; dry and hop bitter finish with fruity and slightly resiny notes and traces of sweet malt in the aftertaste. Very good German Pilsener. 11.X.10

bottle from Biershop-bayern.de. Clear pale yellow colour, large white head. Lovely fresh hoppy aroma. Light and elegant malt falvours with lots of herbal-grassy hops with a touch of citrus. Quite hoppy, not one of those mild examples of the style. Very nice!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On Tap, Monks Café Stockholm Clearest pale golden pour with active effervescence that conjures a fair white head leaving solid lacing around. A bit lacking in terms of hop brightness, rather mineral for the style as well, which disturbs the bitterness furthermore. otherwise, rather generic grassiness hides hop pretty much any trace of the deficient malts. Very dry palate ultimately, but lacking the freshness that could lead it anywhere close to glory.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Medium white lasting head is creamy on top. Yellow body. Fruity strawy grassy aroma is kind of faint. Dry-sweetish mealy strawy grassy taste with peppery notes. Mid-bodied. Dusty mouthfeel. Bitter grassy aftertaste is sort of simple. Not bad, but not very good, either. (0.33l draft at Monk’s Café, Stockholm, as Monks Bavarian Pils.)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour with huge white head. Malty, grassy nose with toffee notes. Malty, grassy taste with notes of citrus and pineapple. Initial malt sweetness leading to a drier, nice grassy bitterness in the finish. Hops leaning slightly in the Czech direction. Classic pils, solid but unadventurous.
