Note ancora fruttate (mango) e agrumate soprattutto accompagnano la bevuta. Amaro sotto la media per lo stile, con un finale non troppo pulito.

Maker: Brauhaus Riegele, Augsburg, Germany *** Beer: Riegele Biermanufaktur Simco 3 (bottled, unfiltered, 660ml) *** Style: American Pale Ale *** ALC.VOL.: 5.0% *** "This beer owes its colorful taste to the use of three types of hops: Hallertauer Perle, Hallertauer Opal, and the American Simcoe Hop." [brewery note, my translation] *** Colour: Hazy amber, with a medium-sized frothy head. *** Nose: Orange fizz, black tea, caramel malts. *** Texture: Medium body, still a bit watery. Modest carbonation. *** Taste: Orange fizz is dominant at the start, a wee bit sweetish. The counterpoint of pinewood, black tea notes kicks in quickly. Caramel. A tiny resinous note. Finish is orange, black tea. Caramel and pine, orange in the aftertaste. *** Impressions: Fruity, uncomplicated IPA that lacks the strong resinous notes that we normally associate with APAs. Eminently drinkable, but could have more depth.

When poured into the glass it produces a fine dense champagne head. The hazy orange coloured beer offers aromas of elderflowers and sour eldeberries, maracuya, orange peel, citrus and resin hops in general, apricot, slighty dark caramel and bready notes. The flavour is dominated by tropical fruits and the bitterness of the hops, light sour overall with dark bread in the finish. Creamy texture, medium body, average carbonation. Refreshing.

Draught a Taphouse. High creamy and lasting off-white head. Hazy dark yellow body. Mild and yet slightly spicy malt hay withP just a faint fruity aroma. Pleasant mild and dry hay malt flavor with grass notes and fruit in the background. High carbonation. Long bitter finish. Quite tasty for a beer with such relative low alcohol contents.

Bottle. Orange-brown colored, slightly hazy with a full frothy white but fast vanishing head. In the nose sweet fruity with apricot and grapes does the Simco 3 remind of champagne. The flavor is mostly dominated by apricot and goes along well with the light sweetness of malts and the bitter finish. Body and carbonation are medium, however the somewhat sparkling character is supporting the similarity to champagne.
