COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Clear golden color, average sized white head. Aroma of cheap hops, grain, metal. Not good. Taste of grain, cheap hops. Sweet with awful cheap bitter aftertaste. This is just bad.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear golden, white head with good lacing. Both the aroma and the taste have simple pale malts, traces of grassy and lemony hops. Light bitter and dry finish. Might be simplistic, but that’s a well done helles.

Tap at ginger man lunch. Nice gold slight hazed beer. Nose is light malt and straw. Tastes of straw, herbal, malt, faint hop bitterness. Pleasant palate. Easy drinking and rather pleasant.

Aroma - some caramel malt, hay, and Saaz hops. Not abundant on nose. Appearance - pale body - clean and clear with some nucleation, Head is about 1 1/2" and white. Settles out into a thin layer of foam. Taste - is lightly sweet with some nice caramel malt, a little hay, some mild hops - presumably Saaz variety. Palate - body is light, the texture thin, carbonation is average, and the finish subtle and the faintest bit tangy.

This beer looks amazing but is relatively mild and a quiet beer. A beer that you want to like but the mildness is too indistinct to impress. Perhaps if you understand why it is so mild you can value this more.

Extrem weiches, mildes Helles mit strohgelber Farbe und feinem Schaum. Malzig, aber nicht so typisch süßlich. Angenehm.

12 oz. bottle from Liquor Barn (Springhurst); split four ways. Aroma: Semi-dry cereal with an abiding grassiness that reminds me of German Pilsners; very clean and inviting. Appearance: Yellow pour with light streams of carbonation supporting a patchy white head. Flavor: Assertively grassy up front; malts more subtle and leave a whisper of sweetness, leading to a dry, grassy finish. Palate: Light body, sticky texture, very soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: It’s a superbly done Helles; probably the best German example I’ve found stateside, especially from a bottle.
