COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Riegele Alte Weisse is brewed with wheat malt and roasted naturally dark barley malt. The fermentation and the maturation in our underground lagering cellar gives it the last polish.

500 ml bottle. BB 18/3/15. From bierzwerg.de.
Cloudy mid-brown colour with a huge foamy light tan head. Sweetness, nuts, cinnamon, raisins, mild metal, bread and wheat in the aroma. The flavour is yeast, mild yeasty bitterness, wheat, bread, some dark fruits and malt. Very low carbonation. Not my favourite. Like a night and day compared to their Riegele’s Weisse.

50cl bottle bb03/2015. Traditional label, fraught with 19th century kitsch imagery. Pours a deep dirty amber with an impressive crème fraîche cap, thick and organic. Smells of apple sauce spiced with cinnamon, joined in taste by subtle caramels and more apple. Stops short of falling flat on its full apple ass before caramelised almond and a spicy, additionally cinnamon-like hops punch through. Easy to drink Dunkelweizen, slightly too light with a void in the middle - almost like TAP 7’s slender younger, developing sister.
