Mit der Riegele Weisse pflegt das Brauhaus bis heute alt-überlieferte bayrische Weissbiertradition in Augsburg zu Ehren von Sebastian Riegele, dem Erbauer und Gründer des Riegele Hauses am Königsplatz. Die Gärung im Kellerfass und die schonende Separation der Hefe sorgt für die stabile natürliche Trübung und ein außergewöhnliches Geschmackserlebnis.

(bottle) Cloudy, orange to golden colour with a dense and thick foamy white head. Yeasty and fruity aroma of banana and citrus and a present wheat-character, accompanied by clovy spices. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour with a tinge of acidity, light to medium bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Wheat-malt upfront with moderately fruity notes of banana and citrus; dry-ish bitter-sweet finish with mildly fruity notes and clovy spice. Okay. 05.X.10

Draught. Hazy pale yellow body, with a huge, rocky, white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate malty aroma with notes of banana and citrus. Maybe some apple. Moderate sweet flavour with a strong acidic note. Light-to-medium body with a oily texture; lively carbonation; astringency in the finish. Acceptable hefeweizen.

Bottled 50cl. It pours an orange beer with a nice head. Spicy aroma which is mostly reminiscent of banana. Decent, pleasant and without any major flaws.

Gustosa, non speciale hefe bevuta in un pub che ho provato di recente a Napoli, sempre al Vomero, via Bernini: mi pare si chiami L’Oca Nera. Ce l’hanno alla spina, curiosa scelta ma il panorama partenopeo offre molte piccole sorprese; dissetante, piacevole, forse non la migliore scelta per la stagione, ma qui a Napoli fa ancora piuttosto caldo. Bevuta con un crostone al prosciutto crudo, provola, insalata, pomodoro.

Beer tasted under artificial, coloured light, Appearance marks average = 4. Draught Clove, bit of meaty esters, and rhubarb at the end - bit of lemon too, after some time. Fruity, with mainly citric flavours, and certainly less meaty than the nose suggested; however, bit lactic around the tonguesides. Spritzy MF, medium bodied. Typical Weizen.
