3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 75cl corked. Bottle #1520. A very dark brown beer topped by a dense, light beige head. A bit sweetish on the nose, with molasses, roasted malts and coffee hints, some plums and prunes. The flavor is pretty sweet, with molasses, coffee and a touch of alcohol. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level, but a tad too sweet. Lasting sweet finish with roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. A nice one indeed. 140301

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
75cl bottle from the brewery. Bottle #1112. Pours a black body with a finger-width, fizzy and frothy, dark brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is on the sweet and malty side with a good amount of raisins and prunes as well as a nice dark chocolate backing. Fairly roasty with a nice licorice aspect, some caramel, and bread. Flavor is similar. Raisin-bread and prunes, dark chocolates, caramel, licorice, and roasts. A touch of vanilla towards the end as this finishes sweet, but somewhat dry with a nice roast and a slight bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a full body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice imperial stout. Bigger and sweeter with lots of dark fruit, but well balanced and very enjoyable. Good one.
