Bottle. Pours mahogny in color with a tan head. Dark bready maltyness, nuttyness and light notes of smoke in aroma. Nutty, dark died fruity sweetness and bready malty notes in taste. Feels full and rich and has even slightly vinous notes in aftertaste. Very smooth too. Excellent doppelbock.

50cl bottle pours with a nice looking mahogany colored body that supports a light thin tan head. The aroma offers up caramel, earthy sweet dates and molasses as well as a bit of dry brownie mix. The taste starts with a moderate sweetness that’s sweet dark fruity ester like with dates and plums and then it gets into a mix of molasses, caramel malts and then a mild dark roasted maltiness and a dash of dark roasted coffee that really adds a pleasing layer to the experience. It ends molasses and date like with a lingering mild molasses and malty sensation. I like this.

Bottled 50cl. Ordered from bierzwerg. Didn’t take any tasting notes for this beer unfortunately. Nice.

Bottle from the brewery tap, pours a deep dark brown with a fine beige head, and aromas of toffee and faintly of lemon and apple. Rich and treacley palate with hints of coffee and gravy. Syrupy yet less sweet than the texture suggests, a very decent Doppelbock.

Klassischer Bock ohne Extras. Dick und malzig mit einigen muffigen Momenten. Trinkbar, manchmal wärmend - in Ordnung.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark colour with steady low head and smooth body. Aroma of malt and dried fruits. Taste of malt, strong alcohol, flowers, raisins, prunes, nuts and straw. Smooth to drink yet a little bit too much "Bock" - boring and average.

The bottle looks really, really good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Wonderful strong-malty aroma. Starts very strong, but not alcoholic, intense malty, earthy, hints of liquorice and coffee. Not too roasty. Finish milder, well balanced. Great beer!
