COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Magic Lavender Wheat Ale is a uniquely different & refreshing brew. Did we mention it’s magical too? It’s brewed with local honey from Honey Pot Priory & fresh local lavender from Light Of Day Organics. This is a straight forward wheat with dried lavender.  This brew has a floral nose and a wheat finish.

From a 12 oz bottle at the Beer Head BBQ in Falls Church VA. Pours a hazy pale gold with an off white head. Light citrus nose. Lavender aroma. Flavor of bubble bath. Meh.

Very floral nose with a very light body and color this lavender wheat is a great change of pace in the wheat beer world. Maybe not everyone can appreciate lavender in their beer (yet), but I do and this stuff is good.

Wonderfully cloudy golden color. Lavender flavor came through. Low ABV increases the appeal for me. $5.99/bomber sale was appreciated.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a foamy white head. The aroma is an overpowering floral/lavender with a touch of cinnamon. The aroma would be more pleasing if the lavender was toned down. The taste is also a strong floral/lavender, but the cinnamon helps offset it better, and there’s some hints of lemon and wheat. I found this enjoyable, yet perhaps a little over the top. I guess that’s better than having a lack of flavor.

22 oz bomber at a tasting on January 13. The pour is a cloudy golden hue with a pretty dense foamy head that lingers a while before falling down. The aroma... Holy FLOWERS! The lavender on the nose is dominating to a point it took a while to develop hints of any other scents. There is some grassy notes and a nice (albeit hidden) floral (ironic) hoppiness. There is a light malt presence as well. The flavors are also dominated by the lavender. The hoppiness and small maltiness are picked up if you REALLY focus on trying to find them. This thing is just whoa. It’s really, really sweet, and I can’t believe how much the Lavender controls it. The mouth feel is pretty oily, and the flavors linger beautifully and there is a nice spicy note after a few moments. Decent, but overpowered by the lavender.

Poured a pale cloudy yellow color with aromas of wheat, light spicy and some flowers. Flavors are the same with a spicy in the aftertaste.

bottle. Golden with one finger head. Inoffensive, but bland wheat beer with a little honey. I really tried to detect the lavender, and the best I can say is that I thought I tasted something a tiny bit floral in there.

Bomber. Pours a hazy light amber color with a medium sized head that quickly fades. Aroma is lots of lavender and lemons with some grainy wheat. Taste is juicy lemons, fresh lavender, and sweet honey. Dry, wheat finish. Medium body. Interesting beer. Maybe a little over the top with the lavender but still enjoyable.

Bottle shared at Patty and Jay’s Mead Party. Thanks! Pours a well hazed straw yellow hue, a but pale with some firmer haze in the body. Straw glow with a frothy whitish head atop. A mellow layer sticks around, laces small. Aromas are lavendar, gentle apple, some florals and subtle grass. Mellow wheat, more apple, a bit of bread and fresh cut straw. Gentle yeastiness. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a bit fruity, soapy. Some apple, gentle citrus, earthy florals and lilac, some lavendar, mellow earthy feel, a touch herbal. Middle is a bit bready, subtle apple, mellow carbonation, bready malts and some dough. Gentle florals as we taper out, a bit effervescent, touches of mellow fruit, gentle spice and lavendar as we taper out. Not bad, a bit bready and flaked wheat life. Some mellow apple and spiciness. Not bad, a bit lighter with some decent fruit.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2013 On tap at Petes Place. Fruitiness and honey on the first smell. Same in the sip. Oranges and honey. I really like the honey flavors throughout. I wish it had a little more to it. Its slightly bland. Overall its not too bad.
