Draught at the brewery. Chocolatey stout with a fairly light body but a rich sweet chocolatey flavor on a dry roast coffee flavor.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2011
Sampled at the brewpub. Almost black with some barely perceptible red. A red tan thin head. The nose is pure coffee. The flavor also has some coffee but cocoa as well, it is rich and smooth. Smooth is a key word here because this works smooth so well. Later some caramel malts emerge. This is good.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bullit (3199) - Burgos, SPAIN - JUN 19, 2010
Draft @ Right Brain Brewery. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, chocolate, slightly bitter coffee. Smooth malted. A bit watery and soft finish.

5th Annual MBG Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Dark brown body with reddish highlights, medium creamy cream head. Nose with acidic coffee and modest tart roast. Acidic body with roasted malts, tangy and sharply carbonated. Not much complexity beyond the coffee and roast; no sweetness.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alexsdad06 (2230) - Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2010
Sampled at MBGSF 08 and again at DLD 09 (rating from MBGSF). This poured dark brown with a larger tan head. The aroma was espresso with a nice dose of dark chocolate. The flavor was leaned heavily toward the coffee side to the point where I didn’t get much else. The chocolate was missing. Perhaps some smoothness from the oatmeal, but this was dry and very one dimensional.
Rating #6 for this beer.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 shigadeyo (2394) - Harrison, Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2009
4/25/2009: Right Brain C.E.O. Stout has a great espresso aroma, but the flavor doesn’t deliver. It tastes like watery coffee with a nice, dry chocolate finish. Unfortunately there isn’t much else to say about this beer either...
Sample from growler at Dark Lord Day 2009. Rating #5 for this beer.

Someone poured this for me at DLD. Thanks!! Almost a black pour. Tan head. Lots of nicely roasted coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Also a good trace of roast. Flavor is smooth(oats), and a bit dry. The coffee is delicious and the chocolate notes are dark and dry. Good beer.
